Does God Take Pleasure In Us, His Creation?

No problem, J____,

There is nowhere in the statement that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful” which contradicts these verses:

Jer 18:4  And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it” [conformed to the spiritual image of His Son].

2Pe 3:7  But the heavens and the earth [including all of the wonderfully made things in this earth], which are now, by the same word [of God which says that we are wonderfully made] are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men

1Co 15:50  Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood [as wonderfully made as it is] cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

What God took great care to do was to make a marred vessel which He could dispense with when it had served its purpose of producing a spiritual “new man.” That is what God is doing. Every word of the above author’s statement is true. God is spirit. Here is what Christ has to say about what flesh has to do with spirit:

Joh 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Joh 3:8  The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Corruptible flesh is but a necessary evil to bring man to his invisible like “the wind” spiritual body. Yes, it is evil, and it is sin. Here is what the scripture teaches about this body which is so wonderfully made:

Psa 51:5  Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

As wonderfully made as we are, we are “marred … made in sin, shapen in iniquity.”

I hope this is the scriptural explanation you wanted.

Mike
