Did Paul Say World Without End?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi T____,
Thank you for your question concerning Eph 3:21.

Eph 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Eph 3:21 Unto him [ be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

You ask:

The answer is that Paul says no such thing as “world without end” because Paul knew fully well that this world will come to its end, and he even speaks of that event:

1Co 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Peter also speaks of “the end of all things”, and both are speaking of our old man, our old earth and our old heavens.

1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Now here is what Paul really said:

Eph 3:20 Now to Him Who is able to do superexcessively above all that we are requesting or apprehending, according to the power that is operating in us,
Eph 3:21 to Him be the glory in the ecclesia and in Christ Jesus for all the generations of the eon of the eons! Amen! (CLV)

The King James Translators were all Catholic scholars who had no idea what “all the generations of the eon of the eons” meant, and since they all believed in the doctrine of an eternal hell fire, they opted for a blatant mistranslation rather than being true to the Greek Text which was before them. The apostle is speaking of all the generations in which Christ is working to save all men. This is a concept which is totally foreign to the mind which believes that it is in this life only that we have hope in Christ, when the Truth is that is not so.

1Co 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

God simply has not yet set His hand to save all men. But when He does set His hand to save all, then all will certainly be brought to Christ and His Father through the church.

Eph 1:9 making known to us the secret of His will (in accord with His delight, which He purposed in Him)”
Eph 1:10 to have an administration of the complement of the eras, to head up all in the Christ– both that in the heavens and that on the earth”

Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Eph 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [ places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

I hope this helps you to see that the apostle Paul was speaking of this time in which Christ is in the process of bringing His elect to Himself, and through those few elect, called “the Christ” (Eph 1:10), bringing all of mankind to Himself and His Father.

Rom 11:30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Rom 11:31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
Rom 11:32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
Rom 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable [ are] his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Rom 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Rom 11:35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
Rom 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, [ are] all things: to whom [ be] glory for ever. Amen.

Your brother in Christ,
