Gods Left Hand

Hi M____,

Thank you for your input here. You ask what I think, and I will tell you that I think you are right on target. I answered an e- mail this past week in which I referenced Job 1:11-12 as proof that scriptures themselves call the work of Satan’s hand is shown to be “Thy hand” or the hand of God. But I had not carried that thought through to the extent that you have done by putting these three verses together.
“The Lord”, or Yahweh, of Job 1:12, contrary to what is taught in orthodox Christianity, is actually Christ who was “seen and heard” by many in the Old Testament, but that in no way takes away from your point here. If Christ really is “at God’s right hand” and “the goats” are on Christ’s left hand, then it follows that Satan is on the left hand of both Christ and God as “Thy hand”, that is as God’s hand, to do such things as afflicting Job, troubling King Saul, tempting King David to number the people, being a lying spirit in the mouth of Ahab’s prophets, etc.

Joh 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
1Sa 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.
1Sa 16:15 And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
2Sa 24:1 And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.
1Ch 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
1Ki 22:23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

All of those examples are but types and shadows of the work of God’s hand in our own lives. Thank you for sharing this with me. I pray God will continue to bless you with such insights.

Your grateful brother in Christ,
Mike
