Thinking Above What Is Written

You have come a long way, and you are right, we are all exactly where God has us. Even M___ had that right. I do not resent M___ or Paul Crouch and company. I actually thank God for such opposition. It is at their expense that God’s elect are elect:

Rom 11:30  For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

It is all God’s call. He simply chooses a few to use them to bring in all the rest:

Rom 11:31  Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
Rom 11:32  For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

We are all, in our appointed time “in unbelief.” It is all God’s Work. The flesh has nothing in which to glory. Don’t worry about anything, just be vigilant about everything:

1Pe 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

I have been guilty of worrying about making a mistake and leading others astray. But God has demonstrated that He knows how to handle every situation.
Mr. Eby’s statement “there are only two men in the world” is true because God Himself says that we are all “in Adam” before we all will be “in Christ.”

1Co 15:22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

When the scriptures say “AS… even SO” it means what it says. All men of all time are represented in these two men.
You asked if Mr. Eby was wrong so I will point out to you that Mr. Eby believes in the false doctrine of ‘the fall of man.’
“If there have been any men on earth outside of Adam and Jesus Christ, they did not fall in Adam nor are they redeemed in Jesus Christ.”

Adam, by Mr. Eby’s own “two men only” assessment, was “marred in the hand of the Potter” and had nowhere to ‘fall.’ He was created in what Mr. Eby would call a ‘fallen’ condition. It is not a scriptural concept, and neither Christ nor any of the apostles ever spoke of the fall of man.

Jer 18:4  And the vessel that he made of clay [ Adam] was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made [ Hebrew – is making] it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

And this statement is true of all flesh, including the flesh of Christ who was “of the seed of David according to the flesh” [ first Adam]. That is right, Christ came into the world “according to the flesh:

Psa 51:5  Behold, I [ First Adam in the garden, in David, in you and me, and in Christ “after the flesh”] was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

The first Adam is a “wicked man” who God has formed in us all for “the day of evil” in us all:

Pro 16:4  The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Eph 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Here are Christ’s own words for any who might wish to argue with Him:

Mat 19:16  And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17  And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Christ knew what was His flesh, even if we do not. And so we are told:

1Co 15:50  Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

2Co 5:16  Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

That is what Christ thought of his “body of sinful flesh.” And yes, Christ flesh was “sinful flesh, just like ours is “after the flesh.”

Heb 2:14  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

The fact that the first Adam is called a type of Christ in no way changes the fact the the first Adam was created for the day of evil in us all, and is predestined for destruction.

Rom 5:14  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure [ Greek – tupos – type] of him that was to come.

Christ being “the beginning and the end” in no way necessitates that the beginning will not be destroyed and replaced by the end.

2Co 5:17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The first Adam was designed to “pass away.”

Gal 6:15  For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

The “new creature” was designed to replace the old creature.
M____ says she is short- cutting the process:
“I t’s a long way for a short cut, I will read it again.”
M____ makes it very clear that she has no intention of letting the scriptures get in her way or slow down her spiritual perception:
I just know what I know in my Spirit, that is why I do not read my bible,”

M____ has fallen prey to the spirit that rules the set on TBN. I have never seen Paul Crouch more angry than when someone questions his false teachings and demands to see scripture for Paul Crouch and company’s doctrines.
M____ is of that same spirit which proudly declares that the written letter will hold you back and actually keep you from growing spiritually. The only time these people quote the Bible is when they can twist it into whatever is their latest ‘revelation from the spirit.’ Here are M____’s own words:
He, can talk to me if He, wants to give me a revvy.”

And here is a perfect example of what I mean by how this spirit only quotes God’s Word when it can twist God’s Word into this new ‘higher, spiritual approach’ to understanding the mind of God.’ Now remember M____ has just informed you  “I do not read my bible.”

Now she says “I will use scripture to explain… leave out all the other books in the Bible and go to the last book of the Bible…” etc.

M____ has no trouble “leaving out all the other books of the Bible because that is what the spirit leading her is telling her to do. She is blind to how she contradicts her own words like “I don’t read the Bible.” If she were honest with herself she would have to admit  that what she is really saying is, ‘I don’t read the Bible unless it fits my own spirits purpose to read the Bible.’
This past year saw a lot of women who had supported iswasandwillbe. com leave our fellowship over this very spirit. Here is what the scriptures which these people so despise, have to say on this subject:

1Co 4:6  And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think [ of men] above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

Leave out the words “of men.” They are not in the Greek. We are admonished by the holy spirit “not to think above what is written.” This letter from M____ demonstrates what happens when we “think above what is written.” At that point the scriptures are no longer needed. In M____’s own words:
I just know what I know in my Spirit, that is why I do not read my bible,”
M____’s spirit cannot be “tried” because M____ does not read her Bible. So M____ is at the mercy of a spirit which she cannot control or “try.”  It is a spirit which hates these inspired words of God:

1Jn 4:1  Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

How, pray tell, can we “try the spirits” if we don’t read our Bibles? If we “just know what we know in our spirit?”
M____ is adrift on a stormy sea without even a rudder to guide her through those stormy waters.
Here is what you tell me is your response to M____:
“I am flabbergasted… and don’t know how to explain Mr Eby’s paper to her.  Her understanding is far away from what I think, way off in some ways… but I just don’t know how to get it across to her. Or… is the paper wrong?  I don’t think so.”
The only thing wrong with Mr. Eby’s paper is his alluding to the false doctrine of the ‘fall of man.’ His assessment of the two men of scripture is right on. You are so right, J____, “Her understanding is far away from what I think, way off in some ways… I don’t know how to get it across to her.”
Here is what the scriptures teach. This is the word of God, and as much as Paul Crouch and everyone else who is led by this spirit which has taken over M____’s mind hates these verses of scripture, they are still very good advice:

2Jn 1:9  Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
2Jn 1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
2Jn 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

The word ‘house’ means your spiritual house. It does not mean that you cannot have your Baptist brother- in- law over for dinner. Here are precise instructions as to how to deal with M____. God’s elect must learn to handle such situations if they are serious about “ruling this world and angels.” This is not a casual suggestion, this is a commandment of our Lord through His apostle John:

Tit 3:10  A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject ;
Tit 3:11  Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

M____, and all of the women and men who subscribe to this “above what is written” doctrine, are “subverted and condemned of themselves:”
” I just know what I know in my Spirit, that is why I do not read my bible,”
I hope this is of some assistance to you. I am pleased to see that you are “flabbergasted.”
I take great comfort in these words:

Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [ shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36  As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37  Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I know that this is so! We can all, M____ included, take comfort in those words.
Mike
