The Book of Micah – Part 1, Micah 1:1-16

[Study Aired February 24, 2024]

The Hebrew scholars referred to the so-called ‘minor prophets’ as “The Book of the Twelve”; effectively a single book, a collage of a mostly single theme of utter destruction and servitude of the Israelites by the Assyrians in 722 BC and later Judah to the Babylonians. To the Bride of Christ, no prophecy from any prophet of God is regarded as “minor”, implying little significance. In fact, when we sense Christendom’s, that is, Babylon’s dreary observations that those prophets are minor without much significance, we are galvanised to be alert for something profound. Of course, all of the Lord’s words are electrifying since His wife is only given to fully understand the mysteries of God spiritually. The entirety of the Lord’s word is a parable only understood misty enough while in Babylon to formally keep us intrigued without ever intimately knowing Him. For his Elect since the cross, we are experiencing a dramatic shift in our God-given understanding of Him, establishing His spiritual covenant within.

Luk 8:9  And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
Luk 8:10  And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

As such, Micah, the sixth book of the minor prophets like the other eleven, is not in the least “minor” since their relatively short lengths are momentously grave prophecies of the coming destruction and enslavement of Israel, and particularly the North, and later, Judah in the South, now seen as our formally spiritual wasteland within. Even our brothers in Babylonian Christianity hazily know that the Lord’s word is spirit and truth and is only fully understood by that power and might, yet are not given any spiritual enthusiasm to pursue it much beyond a somewhat irksomely confused dabble. As my minister said to me upon me fleeing Babylon, and regarding my unreserved disgust that nobody, including he, could show me what the covert meanings, particularly of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation meant, his answer was, “Well, you don’t have to understand those types and shadows since they only serve to hide the true meaning of of Christ.” I politely nodded while my silent heart said, “You are completely useless to me.” That night, I went to bed in tears to the Lord I never knew, and in three months, He rapidly revealed Himself through the Body of Christ.

Joh 8:43  Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear [understand spiritually] my word.

Joh 6:63  It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Joh 4:22  Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the [spiritual Jews] Jews. [Rom 2:28  For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: Rom 2:29  But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly (meaning, spiritually); and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.]
Joh 4:23  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Joh 4:24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

That hour has now come, today, 2,000 years since the cross for those remnant rag-tag despised bunch coming out of Babylon to rebuild the spiritual New Jerusalem within. Meanwhile, the rest of the 40,000-plus splintered Christian denominations are given tunnel vision, as were initially the Apostles and we, only desiring to see the physical re-establishment of the Jews and rebuilding of a physical temple on the ashes of Old Jerusalem. Today Christianity and associated self-serving political Zionists are hell-bent on fighting to maintain the self-devised state of Israel, oblivious to the fact that the physically lived Laws of God established in the physical Jews were finished at the cross. They, like Peter and the other Apostles coming out of the Old Covenant, wanted to fight for Jesus’ establishment of their imagined physical government on Earth.

Today, in 2024, nothing has changed. The unwitting Great Whore is an indeterminate whisker of time away from being physically judged once again from the North by the modern symbolic Assyrians and Babylonians.

Rev 17:16  And the ten horns [The world of unbelievers] which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore [The Zionist believers worshipping “another Jesus”], and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Rev 17:17  For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
Rev 17:18  And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Babylonian Christianity, spiritually identified as Old Jerusalem, has given their decaying belief in God to the “Beast”, who has facilitated her utter destruction through all kinds of putrid perversions physically and particularly spiritually.

Meanwhile, the most mind-blowing news hidden in plain sight is Christ’s judgment on His little flock, “the house of God” spiritually, as unwittingly prophesied spiritually by Micah and the other eleven “minor prophets” along with every other word of Christ in the sum of His word.

1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
1Pe 4:18  And if the righteous [The Bride of Christ] scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? [The Lake of Fire]

Rev 20:5  But the rest of the dead [those above named “ungodly; sinners”] lived not again until the thousand years were finished [The Lake of Fire].

The Book of Micah

Mic 1:1  The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

Mic 1:1  The word of the LORD that came to Micah the Morasthite [Moreshethgath = possession of Gath]  in the days of Jotham [Jotham = Jehovah is perfect; Jehovah = the existing one], Ahaz [Ahaz = he has grasped; grasp, take hold, seize, take possession], and Hezekiah [Jehizkiah = Jehovah has made strong; Jerushah or Jerusha = dispossessor], kings of Judah [Judah = praised; to throw, shoot, cast], which he saw concerning Samaria [Samaria = watch mountain; to keep, guard, observe, give heed] and Jerusalem [= teaching of peace. 1. to throw, cast 2. to cast, lay, set 3. to shoot arrows 4. to throw water, rain].)

Micah, unlike most of his contemporaries prophesying the destruction of Israel, is mentioned twenty-seven times outside of the book of Micah. He was thus a relatively well-known prophet who didn’t seem to suddenly burst upon Israel out of the blue, as did most of his peers. Micah, along with his eleven fellow prophets, gave Israel ample forewarning of Israel’s coming destruction. However, as was humanity in the days of Noah’s forewarning of the impending flood, Israel was given by God to be equally dull of hearing. She represents all mankind given over to a reprobate mind inclusive of the Lord’s “little flock” at this point, oblivious to their election. However, they, his Elect, are given by God to eventually heed His command to “come out of her (Babylon), my people” so that they, the budding Christs (plural), are not swept away along with the Great Whore’s destruction at the hands of the Ten Horns of the Beast in these last days. Obadiah, one of Micah’s contemporary prophets, says the following prophecy of the Lord’s Elect ruling her sisters of both the Old Jerusalem and the world,

Oba 1:18  And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
Oba 1:19  And they of the south [Spiritual Judah, the Lord’s Elect] shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead [All of Israel].
Oba 1:20  And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
Oba 1:21  And saviours [plural] shall come up on mount Zion [Samaria and Jerusalem] to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.

Stepping back to:

Oba 1:15  For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

The Lord’s Elect are equally “heathen” until they are given spiritual understanding. There is one event to all, except that His Elect are the first fruits of Christ given to go ahead of her sisters in Babylon to save many alive.

Ecc 9:1  For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them.
Ecc 9:2  All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
Ecc 9:3  This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.

Oba 1:16  For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.

The Elect of God are first to be given to drink the same cup of wrath as the rest of mankind; the difference is that they are given the foremost understanding of the meaning of its spiritual bitterness in their bellies. The irony is that bitterness quickly becomes overwhelming joy for its understanding that John wasn’t given.

Rev 10:7  But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
Rev 10:8  And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
Rev 10:9  And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
Rev 10:10  And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
Rev 10:11  And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

That “seventh angel” in verse 7 represents the one unified Angel of the Lord, the Bride in unity with her husband, Christ. The number seven means the completion of the process of the Lord’s wrath.

Rev 15:6  And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
Rev 15:7  And one of the four [Representing all the beasts around the throne of God] beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
Rev 15:8  And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

All ‘bitter’ prophecies are initially “sweet” in our formally Christian Babylonian mouths since we, as they, believed that we had it made with the strong delusion of being saved while pointing to those debauched sinners in the world, not knowing that they/we were them! We, too, formally without the Lord’s wrath of chastising love that teaches us to keep and walk in the entirety of his commands, were just as culpable.

However, the Lord has a cunning plan of salvation for all of mankind. He says:

Oba 1:17  But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob [Elect of God] shall possess their possessions.
Oba 1:18  And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.

It means that our brothers and sisters of Old Jerusalem, the world, will be devoured by the fiery word of God. Initially, in the One-Thousand Year reign under Christ, His Bride will rule with the rod of iron of their Lord’s word to the world’s utter frustration since they are not given the holy spirit to keep Christ’s commands. The “fiery word” that consumes Jacob (and the world) is spiritually mental anguish in the Lake of Fire that melts the elements of false doctrine.

The Lord’s voice by all twelve of the ‘minor prophets’ is one voice, as is Obadiah’s for the destruction of Israel. The number twelve represents the number of Christ and the Body of Christ. Twelve is the number of foundations. In this case, it’s the setting of foundations for future spiritual chastisements upon the house of God (1Pe 4:17-18).

Micah goes on to say:

Mic 1:3  For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.
Mic 1:4  And the mountains shall be molten under him, and the valleys shall be cleft, as wax before the fire, and as the waters that are poured down a steep place.
Mic 1:5  For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
Mic 1:6  Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof.
Mic 1:7  And all the graven images thereof shall be beaten to pieces, and all the hires thereof shall be burned with the fire, and all the idols thereof will I lay desolate: for she gathered it of the hire of an harlot, and they shall return to the hire of an harlot.
Mic 1:8  Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the dragons, and mourning as the owls.
Mic 1:9  For her wound is incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.

It is only through our husband, our Lord and Savior, that we know He has discovered our nakedness with our skirts physically up around our faces to denote “the foundations” of our high places” of spiritual nakedness. We have been that harlot and lustily sold the Lord’s word upon the nations, barely escaping being utterly burned with fire along with our Babylonian sisters for the hypocritical vulgarity we forced upon the world.

Jer 13:25  This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.
Jer 13:26  Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.
Jer 13:27  I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be?

It shall “once be” as one event to all mankind to receive the wrath of God’s loving chastising grace as seen earlier in there being ‘one event to all men’ (Ecc 9:3) to humble them inclusive of being in one of the two resurrections.

1Ti 2:3  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Rev 20:4  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them [The Bride of Christ, his “little flock”]: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived [In spirit form as Christ’s Christs – plural] and reigned with Christ a thousand years [… for the Bride of Christ alone, and is the First Resurrection].
Rev 20:5  But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The fact that there is a “second death” and that in “all will be made alive” not to writhe forever in a lake of physical or psychological fire means that there is a Second Resurrection to life.

Mic 1:10  Declare ye it not at Gath, weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah [a Philistine city] roll thyself in the dust.

Gath means ‘winepress’ and is based in one of the chief cities of the Philistines.

Lam 1:15  The Lord hath trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me: he hath called an assembly against me to crush my young men: the Lord hath trodden the virgin, the daughter of Judah, as in a winepress.

It is not the time for the world’s judgment in the winepress as represented by Philistines. The Bride of Christ is first to experience the one event to all men by first being crushed in the wine press and drinking the Lord’s wrath against the ‘incurables’ of our old man. She is first to be past the infantile ways of rolling in the dust and running from the Lord. Rather, like Jonah, she is told to get up, stop whining and talking about the Lord, and learn to joyfully walk in His ways, keeping His commandments. Briefly skipping forward in Micah, he says:

Mic 3:8  But truly I am [the Bride of Christ is] full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin [first within!]

Mic 1:11  Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir [meaning – ‘fair’], having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan [meaning – ‘pointed’] came not forth in the mourning of Bethezel [meaning- ‘house of narrowing’]; he shall receive of you his standing [our Lords foundation and strength as did Micah in 3:8]
Mic 1:12  For the inhabitant of Maroth [meaning – ‘bitterness’] waited carefully for good: but evil came down from the LORD unto the gate of Jerusalem.
Mic 1:13  O thou inhabitant of Lachish [meaning – ‘invincible’], bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.

What Micah 1 verses 11-13 represents is our former fairness and beauty of Old Jerusalem, the Lord’s first wife now embarrassed by her pointed lewdness, formally alluring her lovers as a swift dromedary. She has stolen her Lord’s fair jewels and is now entering life by the narrow way. She is the few who finds it (Mat 7:13-14). Initially, she is bitter for her chastisement, as was Samaria and Judah, and eventually learns that the Lord’s evil is meant for good. She is bound to the chariot of the fiery word of God, utterly convinced of His word, without a look backward to farewell her sisters in Babylon. The Bride is being loosed from the transgressions of Israel.

Luk 9:61  And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
Luk 9:62  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Mic 1:14  Therefore shalt thou give presents to Moreshethgath [Moresheth-gath = possession of Gath. 1. to seize, dispossess, take possession off, inherit, disinherit, occupy, impoverish, be an heir]: the houses of Achzib [Achzib = deceit; treacherous] shall be a lie to the kings of Israel.
Mic 1:15  Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah [Mareshah = crest of a hill. 1. place at the head, dominion, head place]: he shall come unto Adullam [Adullam = justice of the people. 1. a town of the Canaanites allotted to Judah] the glory of Israel.
Mic 1:16  Make thee bald, and poll [to shear, mow, shearer (participle) b. (Niphal) to be cut off, be destroyed; pass over, pass away]  thee for thy delicate children; enlarge thy baldness as the eagle; for they are gone into captivity from thee

Those verses describe us while in Babylon, gifting our fellow lewd Philistine sisters with the Lord’s words they don’t understand, even supplanting, as did our father Jacob, with Esau’s birthright, stripping Babylon naked like the Hebrews did to Egypt upon leaving her behind. It all highlights their God-given blindness (as we were!), even misunderstanding the warm milk of our Lord’s word, ultimately for the Lord’s Elect to rule, to have dominion over the elder sister and disinherit her birthright. To them it is all treachery in gaining God-gifted kingship ~ but who are they or us to chastise the Lord for doing with His own as He wills?

Mat 20:15  Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
Mat 20:16  So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

The Lord’s Elect are eagles gathered at the carcass to pluck it totally (“enlarged”) bald before eating. Their sisters in Babylon are food for them as they enthusiastically understand all twelve minor prophets’ prophecies instantly and brightly as the lightning flashes from the East to the West.

Mat 24:27  For as the lightning cometh out of the East, and shineth even unto the West; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Mat 24:28  For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

“They are gone into captivity from thee” awaiting rulership under the rod of iron and the crushing in the winepress at Gath, symbolising the initial bitterness of being in the Lake of Fire, only to fall down at the feet of their younger sister, the Bride, and trembling in unspeakable joy, bless Christ and their Father now with them in heaven within.

Rev 3:9  Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
Rev 3:10  Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Rev 3:11  Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
Rev 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Rev 3:13  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith unto the [Seven] churches.
