When He Said Touch Me Not?
Mike,
I wanted to share some thoughts and questions about Christ’s death.
I noticed the word heart is never used in the bible to mean center or middle of anything as in:Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Why if Sabbath ended at 6 p. m. did they very early in the morning the first day of the week, come unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun instead of 6 p. m. but waited until 12 hours later?
Mar 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
Mar 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.Is A. D. 29 the year of Christ’s death, which if it is it would make it 4/15 (tax day), the day of Christ’s death just before the start of Passover day 4/16?
According to this verse in:Joh 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Was Jesus already perfected at this time or not?

Yes, Christ was perfected. He said He was:
Luk 13:32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
Luk 24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
The only reason Christ told Mary He had not yet ascended to the Father was to demonstrate to us just how important is our part in His resurrection.
Joh 20:16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.
Joh 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
So just how important is our part in Christ’s resurrection? Most people would say there is not connection at all. But that is not what the scriptures teach. The scriptures teach that Christ’s inheritance is in His saints, and that He was delivered up through our sins, and He was resurrected through our justification.
Rom 4:25 Who was delivered for [ Greek, dia – through] our offences, and was raised again for [ Greek, dia, through] our justification.
Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
So our heavenly Father and His son both think of us as being within His Son, and they both being within us.
Joh 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Mary was a disciple indeed of Christ. There at the tomb, she was the type of all of Christ’s disciples. As soon as He had witnessed to her of His own resurrection, then, just minutes later, the disciples could and did touch Him.
Mat 28:9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
So then it was through us, and “through our justification” that Christ rose from the dead an ascended to His Father and ours.
I hope this all helps you to see just how much Christ and His Father consider us to be one with our Lord.
Your brother in that “one Lord”.
Mike
