The Seven Angels Are The Elect
Mike,
I have been reading the Revelation paper, and I know this is ahead of where you have written, but this makes it sound like the chosen are actually quite a large number, but my guess is that in comparison to all humanity it’s only a few. As pointed out, the angels are actually us, the elect. Any thoughts? Here is the verses:
Rev 5:11 And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Rev 5:12 saying with a great voice, Worthy is the Lamb that hath been slain to receive the power, and riches, and wisdom, and might and honor, and glory, and blessing.Thanks,

Hi L____,
It is not “the angels are actually us, the elect.” It is rather the seven angels which are the elect. This book of Revelation is actually addressed to “the angels of the seven churches.” It is not to the angels of the host of heaven. It is “the seven angels.” Look at this verse:
Rev 21:17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
“… A man, that is… the angel.” The angel under discussion is “a man.” Which “man is this angel? He is “one of the angels which had the seven last plagues:
Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.
This is not just any angel. This is “one of the angels which had the seven last plagues.” Now look at what this very same angel says to John about who this angel is:
Rev 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
Rev 22:9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.]
“I am your fellowservant… of your brothers… a man… that is… the angel.” These “seven angels,” are simply one of many symbols on this book, of the elect. They are also symbolized by the “four beast and the four and twenty elders.”
Rev 5:8 And when he [ Christ, the “slain Lamb] had taken the book, the four beasts and four [ and] twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
Rev 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
“You have redeemed US to God… out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation.” There it is. The four beasts and the four and twenty elders…[ are the] redeemed of every kindred and tongue and people and nation.” And it is right here in this very chapter you are asking me about.
Now if you will read the very next verse after the one at which you stopped quoting, you will see the difference between the “ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;” and ” the living creatures and the [ four and twenty] elders.” Here are those two verses together:
Rev 5:11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Rev 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
Rev 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
“Every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them?” That is what this verse says. And this is contrasted with the “four beasts and the four and twenty elders,” who we have just demonstrated are but another type of God’s elect over comers who are to “rule all nations with a rod of iron.”Four” and “four and twenty” and “seven,” who all represent God’s elect, are not to be confused with the “ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; ” who represent “every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them.”
I hope this clarifies this point for you.
Mike
