Should We Worship Christ?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi J____,

Christ taught that He is the only way to come to His Father. He taught that He and His Father are one, and that if we see Christ we are seeing the Father:

Joh 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 10:30  I and my Father are one.
Joh 14:7  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Christ never forbade those who worshiped Him. How could he do so and say all these things?

Mat 2:11  And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Yes, Christ was but two years old at this time, but He continued to be worshiped, and He never once admonished or rebuked anyone for doing so.

Mat 8:2  And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
Mat 9:18  While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
Mat 14:33  Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Mat 15:25  Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
Mat 28:9  And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
Mat 28:17  And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
Joh 9:38  And he [ the man born blind] said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

It appears from scripture that those who are healed of their blindness worship Jesus while “some doubt.” It should be obvious from these few verses that we had better worship Jesus, because the Father considers that the same as worshiping Him.

Joh 10:30  I and my Father are one.

Your brother, who worships God through Christ,
Mike
