Is God Sovereign?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi J____,

This verse of scripture is not a ‘theory’:

Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things After The Counsel Of His Own Will:

It is the pure ungarnished Truth of God’s Word. Click on ‘After The Counsel Of His Own Will’ and find out just how much ‘free will’ Joseph’s brothers (who thought that selling Joseph into Egypt as a slave was their idea) actually had. Joseph informed his brothers that it was actually God’s idea, planted in their weak and corruptible minds by an “evil spirit from the Lord” (1Sa 16:14).
“All things” means what it says. If you scratch your head, it is because God caused you to do so. God is the cause of “all things.”

2Co 5:18 And things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
Rom 11:36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

The scriptures are consistent on this subject:

Pro 16:1 The preparations of the heart in man [ like Joseph’s brothers and the 911 terrorists], and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

This is not “theory;” it is the Truth. But it is the most hated Truth by a beast within each of us which refuses to accept this undeniable fact of scripture. To accept this Truth is nothing short of dethroning the ‘man of sin’ and replacing him with a truly sovereign God.
Christianity denies God’s sovereignty as they proclaim it. They contradict themselves when they teach the unscriptural doctrine of free moral agency. You have a will, Yes. But it is a caused will. It is not a ‘free’ will
I hope this answers your question.
