Can Christian Men Work With Female Bosses?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi T____,
It is always a pleasure hearing from you.

Thank you for your question concerning your female boss and whether you should quit your job because she is a female. The answer is absolutely not! The fact of the matter is that God Himself has placed that woman where she is for His own purposes and after the counsel of His own will.

Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

If I could not work for women, I would be suffering greatly, inasmuch as many of my own jobs as an independent remodeling contractor are for women.
The scriptures are not written to the world. They are addressed to you and me as part of the body of Christ. The world is not being judged at this time. It is “the house of God” that is being judged at this time.

1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

The verses you reference are speaking of “women… in the church,” not in the world.

1Co 14:34  Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [ they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Co 14:35  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
1Co 14:36  What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
1Co 14:37  If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
1Co 14:38  But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

These are literally fighting words in today’s feminist dominated society, but Truth does not change to fit the times. Truth is always true even if society rejects it.
As I have pointed out every time this subject comes up, the word ‘silence’ should be ‘quiet.’ There is nothing wrong with a woman speaking when she has a question, or has been asked a question. But women are not to be ministers as they routinely are today. One TV minister recently said “Anyone who thinks women should not be ministers today is just stupid”. It will be interesting to see him talking with the apostle Paul about that when this ‘vapor’ we call life is past.
I hope this helps you to see that your female supervisor is where she is by the Lord’s own counsel and for your own good, and that you do not need to quit your job.

Rom 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

You are always in Sandi’s and my prayers.
Your brother in Christ,
Mike
