Our church had a sermon on this verse, the hidden treasure, but I couldn't help thinking about Joh 6:63 "my words are spirit." I understand what field is, and I think I understand what the treasure is. I think it is Jesus or his word. For those with ears to hear, buying ... [read more]

Hi Mike,
I was just wondering if you can tell me what the spiritual meaning behind Samson (getting his hair cut off) is. I really enjoy reading your site, and of course I'm learning more every time I read it. Thank You and God Bless !!

Thanks Mike,
I would be grateful, if you could answer me one more question before I make a final decision. I wrote a letter to some loved ones, just to explain how I feel, about us not being able to agree on God's word; how this did not bring Glory to God. I said to them we are not in a... [read more]

They Went Out From Us
"They went out from us" because they are not of us. 'Denying Christ and His Father' does not mean to deny him like Peter did. What Peter did was but a shadow and type of what we do whenever we claim to know Christ, yet we don't love our brother. That is how 'they' deny the Fat... [read more]

Can you give me a one paragraph opinion of Preterism?
R____
Sure. I can do it in one sentence: Preterism is one third of Christ. It therefore is not His fullness.
Now, if you have the time and are interested in why I say that, you can continue reading.
Jesus Christ informs us eleven times in the b... [read more]

Preterism is one third of Christ. It therefore is not His fullness. Jesus Christ informs us eleven times in the book of Revelation that He "Is, Was, And Will Be" (Rev 1:8). 'Is' is always primary and is always before 'Was.' Preterism puts 'Was' as primary. Revelation says, "Keep the sayings of the p... [read more]

Dear Mr. Vinson,
On three separate occasions, my wife and I have asked another website minister why he "skipped" the most important tithing verse in the New Testament (Heb 7:8) when he quoted most of Heb 7 in his "tithing" paper. I just find it to be a little unacceptable and odd to skip right over... [read more]

Dear Mike,
I just finished reading your essay on the New Testament "method" of interpreting the Scriptures. Good stuff. I have believed in this method for some 15 years, having observed the same things that you note in this essay. Alas, I have been in a bit of a quandary for about the same amount... [read more]

Mike,
This occurred to me and I have to ask. How do you explain this scripture in Revelation?
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Notice Mike, there is a ve... [read more]

I don't think Jesus is correcting the Law of Moses when he said 'You have heard that it was said love your neighbors and hate your enemies.' The OT law commanded them to live at peace with their neighbors under Abraham's covenant, the father of our faith. I think Jesus is correcting Essene's teachi... [read more]

I have read a good amount of material from your web site, and I am still trying to disprove something on there. My former pastor, of a southern Baptist church, found my web site, and he was not too happy with it. A good amount of the material is from or directed to your site.
My question is, how... [read more]
