“Comparing the dimensions of the ark and the bride of Christ who will be made ready”
[Study Aired October 8, 2026]
In this second part of our study, we will look at these verses in Genesis, (Gen 7:1-24), which talk about those who got on the ark, and what events transpired during that period, and what they signify (Rev 1:1) for us today. More specifically we will look at the numbers connected with this great event in history which has spiritual significance for the body of Christ today (1Co 10:11, 1Pe 1:12).
1Co 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.(Gen 7:21)
1Pe 1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
Judgement must begin at the house of God
Gen 7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
From a human perspective it looks like the world of Noah’s day is being judged, and yes there is a physical judgement happening there, a natural judgement, but the spiritual judgement is being typified by what is happening to Noah and his family. Chapter six of Romans explains how it is through baptism into Christ’s death (Rom 6:3-4) that we can then be dead to sin and alive in Him today.
All the life that was destroyed in the flood represents all that is within us that must be overcome (1Co 15:50), so we can be dead to sin and alive with Christ on the ark which represents the church of the first born (Heb 12:23) “Come thou and all thy house into the ark”.
God knew those who were His prior to our being dragged to Christ, and while we were in Babylon, just as he knew His plans for Noah and his family, before they were born, which typifies His knowing His purpose for the elect “from the foundation of the world” (Mat 25:34, Luk 11:50, 2Ti 2:19).
Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Luk 11:50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
The positive use of the word “generation”, “for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation” is speaking of those who God is dragging to Christ (Joh 6:44) out of the world and into the church that is represented by the ark. Those on the ark typify the blessed generation that shall not pass till all these things are fulfilled of (Mat 24:1-51). Those outside the ark typify the masses of humanity who have not been given to hear the word of God with eyes that see and ears that hear, leaving them spiritually dead and spiritually unwashed, a crooked and perverse generation not being saved by water but destroyed by it (1Jn 4:6, Mat 8:22, Mat 16:4, Php 2:15). That destruction of all flesh typifies the death of our old man, just as Judas’ death typifies the destruction of the man of perdition within us by the brightness of Christ’s coming into our heavens (2Th 2:3-6).
Part of this generation were being destroyed by water, while the generation on the ark “were saved by water”. It is the elect of God typified by Noah and his children who are “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ” (1Pe 3:20-21, 1Co 6:11, Rom 6:3-4). The typical physical baptism didn’t save those of Noah’s day or anyone today who is physically baptised, as the filth of the flesh remains until our last breath, but what does give us victory is God through Christ who is greater than our conscience (1Jn 3:20). That is why we must be baptized into Christs death (Rom 6:3), a process we are called to endure to the end in order to be saved (Mat 24:13).
1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
1Pe 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: (typified by being raised above the waters in the ark)1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
[It is by the washing of the water of the word that we can have a pure conscience and the ability to put off the flesh (1Jn 2:1-2). We’re still in corruptible flesh that can’t inherit the kingdom of God but through Christ there is no condemnation as we go through a process of judgement that gives us the ability to walk in the spirit and not after the flesh (Rom 8:1-2), to ultimately, Lord willing endure to the end and be found in that blessed and holy first resurrection (Rev 20:6)]
Gen 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.
This verse reminds us that as soon as we are dragged to Christ (Joh 6:44) onto the ark, or the temple that it symbolizes, we become witnesses of these things (Act 5:32), God’s elect understanding that we are both the clean beasts which are taken seven by seven, the male and his female and the not clean beasts taken by two, the male and the female, that Christ gives us dominion over (Rom 6:14). The clean beast represents Christ in us our hope of glory, who cannot sin (1Jn 3:9). In Christ’s own life, He always had complete dominion over the unclean beasts taken by two, having the spirit without measure (Joh 3:34).
The history of Noah’s ark is a story about judgment, and the group of sevens and twos add up to nine which represents that judgement upon the body of Christ (1Pe 4:17). In the realm of the spirit there is neither male or female (Gal 3:28), but those terms [male and female] express how the body will work together as one (Eph 5:31) in order to endure to the end, putting off the flesh by the word of God that will sanctify us (Joh 17:17).
Our hope of glory (Col 1:27) is that by the witness of Christ (2), the new man who is Christ within us (8) will continue to work in us both to will and to do of God’s good pleasure (Php 2:12-13) unto a finished and completed state represented by the number (7). Said another way the 8th is of the 7 (Rev 17:11), and only Christ (2) can make war with the unclean beasts that are being brought into subjection unto him on the ark, “taken by two, the male and the female”. Only Christ in other words can make war with the beast we are (Rev 13:4).
Gen 7:3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
The generation that will follow Noah were never intended to remain perfect in their generation, whereas Noah’s generational perfection typifies the chasteness of the bride of Christ on the ark (Gen 6:9).
These fowl, “Of fowls also of the air by sevens”, (Rev 18:2) represent powers and principalities (Eph 6:12) in the heavens that have been brought into complete (7) subjection on the ark and typify the goal of bringing every thought into subjection unto Christ, trying the spirits whether they are of the Lord, and remaining chaste in His service, being found with His righteousness and not our own (2Co 10:4-5, 1Jn 4:1, 2Co 11:2, Php 3:9).
Php 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
The word of God is what the fowl of the air devour, “to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth” (Mat 13:4). The natural world (Rom 1:20) explains this best with a word called Ornithochory, which happens when birds defecate and spread seeds “upon the face of all the earth”. The earth is the church, Babylon, and the word is being preached as Paul said, and regardless of the intent of the heart of the unconverted who preach that word, it is still going forth and will reach the predestined saturated amount that God intends it to reach before Christ returns (Php 1:16-18, Mat 24:14). That word that goes forth enters into the mouth of humanity but not being mixed with faith (Heb 4:2) there remains no stay of bread or water, but words that are “cast out into the draught” “upon the face of all the earth”(Mat 15:17). The world will give an accounting of their blindness in the second resurrection, their own words will judge them in that day, and so God’s word will never return void (Isa 55:11), but serve its purpose of witnessing to all nations in time (Mat 12:36-37, Mat 24:14).
Mat 13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Php 1:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
Php 1:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
Php 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
Gen 7:4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
It takes 40, the number for tribulation and trials, days and nights, which are the same unto God (Psa 139:12) to add up to the new man, 80, or 8×10=80. It is by the complete (7) destruction of the old man of sin by the word of God that sanctifies us (Joh 17:17), that increase can come into the lives of those to whom God gives it (1Co 3:6-7). Every carnal living thing within us, “every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth”, is another way of saying we must lose our life in order to find it in Christ (Mat 10:39).
Gen 7:5 And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.
Noah’s obedience typifies the obedience of the saints that is made possible by our Saviour who God has “exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins”(Act 5:30-33). Like Christ (1Jn 4:17) we are learning obedience by the things that we suffer in this life (Heb 5:7-8), and those sufferings are a token that witness what it takes “that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer” (2Th 1:5). We are doing the works of our Father and moving with fear to the end that the bride will be made ready, which is what these words typify, “with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;(Rev 19:7) by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith” (Heb 11:7, Rom 3:27 , Psa 127:1).
Heb 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Gen 7:6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
Noah being 600 years old [6x10x10=600], is a witness that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God as it is incomplete (6) and can only go onto perfection by Christ the new man (8) within us who makes it possible for this weak vessels of clay (6) to endure to the end and go unto perfection or completion (7) via His judgement upon us in this life.
Noah typifies our time on the earth as the body of Christ, while we are blessed to have the earnest of the spirit that keeps us spiritually alive and able to overcome (Eph 1:10-14, Rom 5:10). In the fullness of time God will gather “together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth”, but for today that gathering is happening to the few “who first trusted in Christ”(Mat 24:30-31, Eph 1:12).
Gen 7:7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
Going into the ark with his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives typifies our being subject to one another as unto Christ (Eph 5:21-24) so that the whole family of God can benefit as many members that make up the one body, each member supplying in love what is needed in the house of God to overcome “the waters of the flood” [false doctrine] (Eph 4:16). These verses remind us of what we need to be doing for each other as we near the end of this age (Heb 10:24-27).
Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.[“for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed” (Rom 13:11) and iniquity is abounding on this earth at the end of this age, symbolized by “the waters of the flood” that are building (Mat 24:6-14)]
Gen 7:8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
Gen 7:9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
Gen 7:10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
It is after the ark is filled with beasts that represent our beastly life being brought into subjection unto Christ that the waters of the flood must come upon the earth, to try the faith of the saints, as we read in (Mat 24:6-12). It takes 7 days for those waters of the flood to come upon the earth, which negatively symbolize the sins of the Amorites becoming full that brings destruction to all flesh (Gen 15:16). Positively the waters filling the earth is the word of God coming into our heavens to destroy every carnal thing that breaths, and this is a life-long process, which requires much tribulation as we continue to have our faith tried (Act 14:22, 1Pe 1:7, Psa 116:15, 1Co 15:31).
The elect will bring that flood of God’s word to the world during the thousand year rule of the saints (Oba 1:21). The waters of God’s word have never receded for the world (Isa 3:1), but this will happen at the great white throne judgment. That is when the judgments of God will go from being upon the earth during the thousand year reign to being within the earth, or hearts and minds of all of humanity (Hab 2:14, Rev 20:4). The whole history of mankind witnesses against us that our hearts and minds cannot obey the “but I say unto you” commandments of Christ, unless Christ is within our ark raising us in heavenly places by His spirit (Mat 5:38-39, Mat 5:44, Mar 12:43, Rom 8:9).
Our flesh and our lives are not superior in any way to all those who are not blessed to enter the ark, and the clean beasts, and unclean beasts, and everything that creeps upon the earth that were brought unto the ark, remind us that this is all a work of the Lord that demonstrates His mercy first on the weak of the world (1Co 1:26), the uncomely branch, the despised and rejected “Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth” (1Sa 22:2), so that we can, in turn, show mercy to the rest of the world, deeply aware of where we’ve come from and how the Lord delivered us as He did Joseph (Rom 11:9-20, Gen 45:5, Joh 20:21, Joh 3:17).
Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
What it takes for our old man to be destroyed is being typified by these numbers in this verse (Gen 7:11).
Noah was 600 years old [6x10x10=600], the symbol of man’s flesh that can’t inherit the kingdom of God, and it is the 2nd month, a witness (2) that represents Christ who is going to destroy the man of perdition in our lives by the brightness of His coming on the 17th day of the month, signifying divine intervention in pivotal events, in this case an unprecedented event. And it takes Christ in us as our hope of glory, the new man (1+7 =8) to destroy our man of sin, the unprecedented event of the elects life (2Th 2:5-8).
The fountains of the great deep being broken up and the windows of heaven being open are symbols that reveal that when we suffer and are bruised for Christ, “all the fountains of the great deep broken up”, then our heavens are opened and bring forth His truth, “and the windows of heaven were opened”.
Gen 7:12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
Gen 7:13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;
Gen 7:14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.
Gen 7:15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
Gen 7:16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.
This is a very redundant but hope-filled set of verses that concludes with “and the LORD shut him in”, which typifies our being sealed, or predestined, to be on that ark to the glory of God. It rained forty days and forty nights, symbolizing the much tribulation that we must endure to the end in order to enter into the kingdom of God (Act 14:22). Being sealed happens as a result of bringing everything that has “the breath of life” into subjection unto Christ, symbolized by their entry into the ark 2 by 2 (Gen 7:14-16)
2Co 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
Our dying daily walk in the Lord (1Co 15:31), is being expressed in the words, “In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark”, and we all partake of His sufferings on that ark [the temple], filling up what is behind of the afflictions of Christ for His body’s sake, which is the church (Col 1:24).
Five distinct groups are mentioned to symbolize the grace through faith 5 by which we are saved in the body of Christ [1 Noah – 2 Shem, Ham, and Japheth, – 3 the sons of Noah – 4 Noah’s wife – 5 and the three wives of his sons with them]
Gen 7:17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.
Gen 7:18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
Gen 7:19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
Gen 7:20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
The flood is a two-edged sword, a time of great tribulation for God’s people that is represented by the number 40 that prevails and greatly increases upon the earth covering the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, “all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered”[1Jn 2:16]. The waters in our heavens must reach 15 cubits, symbolizing our sins being covered by the blood of Christ [3×5=15 (Eph 2:8)]. It is only by God’s goodness and love that is expressed toward us by His chastening grace that any one of us can be saved and this is what those 15 cubits symbolize the process of judgement 3 upon our flesh that is accomplished by His grace 5 that chastens and scourges every son that He receives in this age [Heb 12:6, Tit 2:12-13 3×5=15]
Gen 7:21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
Gen 7:22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
Gen 7:23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
These seemingly very depressing and sad words of the destruction of all life typify how the salvation of all mankind will come (Mat 10:39) by and through the destruction of our soulish nature, and we must fear God and thank Him for these wonderful works being spoken of (Psa 107:31, Mat 10:28) that typify for us the destruction of our old man that is taking place within our own heavens as we die daily (1Co 15:31).
“Noah only remained, and they with him in the ark”, reminds us that God is not preserving flesh that can’t inherit the kingdom of God, but rather is showing mercy to the church of the first born, typified by Noah and his family (Heb 12:23-24). The new creation (2Co 5:17) is revealed with Christ’s mind being formed within us, and only Christ can accomplish this miracle of making all things new in our heavens, as He is the author and finisher of our faith (Heb 12:2), the very faith of Jesus that was being typified in Noah who only remained (Rom 3:22, Gal 2:16, Gal 3:22, Rev 14:12)
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Gal 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Gen 7:24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
This last verse reminds us that all flesh will be saved, and that God’s grace and faith (Eph 2:8) will prevail and everyone will not only be baptized in water but in spirit which is symbolized by this process of “the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days”.
[3×50=150]. The jubile or liberty of all mankind will come by a process that God tells us is done decently and in order (1Co 15:22-26), starting with the few represented by Noah and his family, and then the rest of the world who will be saved in the lake of fire, the great white throne judgement (Rev 20:14-15).
