Isa 13:12-22 I Will Make A Man More Precious... Than The Golden Wedge of Ophir

Isa 13:12  I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
Isa 13:13  Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
Isa 13:14  And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.
Isa 13:15  Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
Isa 13:16  Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
Isa 13:17  Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
Isa 13:18  Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.
Isa 13:19  And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
Isa 13:20  It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
Isa 13:21  But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
Isa 13:22  And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

This is the last half of this 13th chapter, which concerns itself with the judgment of Babylon, the nation the Lord  uses as His servant, to punish His people for their sins against Him.

Jer 25:9  Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

Jer 27:6  And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.

While we continue in our own disobedience to Him and His doctrines, we are in spiritual Babylon, fighting against our own Lord and Savior, living under the day of the Lord's wrath:

Joh 3:36  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

As long as God's wrath abides upon us without judgment, we are literally "treasur[ing] up wrath against the day of wrath". We are putting in a supply of "wood, hay, and stubble" to be consumed by His fiery words (Jer 5:14), and as long as the smoke of that inferno is in the Lord's temple we cannot enter therein:

Rom 2:4  Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Rom 2:5  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Given the knowledge we have been granted, we are able to see the expediency for the day of the Lord's wrath upon our own flesh and upon our own "man of sin":

Rev 15:7  And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
Rev 15:8  And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

There when we read the word 'man' (vs 12), it always has the meaning of both the "old man" and the "new man". Inwardly the new man is "more precious than fine gold".

Outwardly and in a dispensational application, however, the circumstances called for in scripture will prepare this earth to be ruled by "the Lord and His Christ".

Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

So the negative application is that the 'old man', meaning men in the flesh who will live through the coming "tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world", will also become rare as the "great tribulation" is experienced outwardly and dispensationally.

Psa 49:10  For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
Psa 49:11  Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
Psa 49:12  Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

Mat 24:21  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Mar 13:19  For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

Rev 16:18  And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

Our heavens and our earth must be shaken by an earthquake "such as was not since men were upon the earth", and we must come to know great "affliction [tribulation] such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created [within us] unto this time, neither shall be". This is the "fiery trial" of:

1Pe 4:12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
1Pe 4:13  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Isaiah 13 is an integral part of the everlasting gospel. The 12th verse of the book of Revelation tells us plainly that the judgment of Babylon is included in "the patience of the saints [and we are told], here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus". Babylon, is us "each in his own order" (1Co 15:23). Notice what we are told:

Rev 14:1  And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
Rev 14:2  And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
Rev 14:3  And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. [Which had come out of Babylon, Rev 18:4]
Rev 14:4  These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
Rev 14:5  And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Now it is of utmost importance that we know how the redeemed got to be so? So let's just continue reading Revelation 14. Here is how that is ordained to be worked by Christ within us:

Rev 14:6  And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, [within us]
Rev 14:7  Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Rev 14:8  And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
Rev 14:9  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
Rev 14:10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Rev 14:11  And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Notice closely what we are told is an integral part of "the everlasting gospel". It includes "the hour of His judgment". The Lord wants us to know what the messages of these three angels are, so He sums up the preaching of the gospel as "the hour of His judgment, the fall of Babylon and the drinking of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the drinking of the wrath of God, and being tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

He then plainly sums it all up with these words:

Rev 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

The death of the brute beast within us really is the best possible news. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ, "the everlasting gospel".

Joh 12:23  And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
Joh 12:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Christ is not glorified until His flesh is on the cross, and that 'brute beast' which is His flesh is destroyed, and the new man is resurrected.

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

2Co 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2Pe 2:12  But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

Our next three verses speak of the preordained fate of Babylon as that "corrupt... natural brute beast" which "cannot inherit the kingdom of God":

Isa 13:14  And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.
Isa 13:15  Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
Isa 13:16  Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.

Our brute beast will be given no quarter. It will be as a chased deer and as a sheep without a shepherd.

We are being shown a pattern here. God uses Assyria to punish and chasten His own people, then He uses Babylon to chasten, and destroy the king of Assyria, as He continues chastening His people. Then He uses "all the nations" to turn upon and destroy the king of Babylon.

Likewise when we are told that "every man [will] turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land", this too continues on as the Lord causes the nations to turn on themselves and bring mankind to the brink of physical distinction, before Christ and His elect step in to save mankind from himself:

Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Mar 13:19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.
Mar 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

We know this is speaking of this age, and not the time of the great white throne judgment because we are told: "For the elect's sake those days shall be shortened", and "for the elect's sake whom he has chosen, He has shortened the days". There is a time of great tribulation outwardly in a dispensational sense, and we must never deny or be found unprepared for both the inward and outward fulfillment of this prophecy.

This takes place within us in the sense that, like all the beasts on the ark, they were all at peace with each other and with Noah while they were in the ark, but they were still beasts right there within the ark with Noah and his family. In like manner, when Christ is within us and we are within Him, we are still a corruptible beast, but every beast 'turns to his own people and flees into his own land' within us and is at peace with all the other beasts and with Christ within us. Like everything the spirit is working within us, because it is all being done only in "earnest" (Eph 1:14), in spiritual down payment form at this time, it is not yet completed. We are hoping for its completion, and we are claiming our adoption in faith, and therefore it appears as a contradiction to our old man to say that we, as Christ was, are seated with Christ in the heavens while we are still standing here on this earth in these very corruptible clay vessels.

Luk 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.

Rom 8:24  For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
Rom 8:25  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Eph 1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14  Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Nevertheless, this is how the spirit speaks concerning how we are to look at dethroned Babylon within us while as we are waiting for the redemption of the purchased possession, the resurrection of the dead. I keep quoting these verses:

2Co 5:15  And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

If Christ is living within us we can truly be at peace with all men, converted and unconverted, including all Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, or even Atheists. We can do so because we know that in His time and in their own preordained order they will all repent of believing all the lies of this age, and will be granted to know the Father and Jesus Christ whom He has sent to save this world:

Rom 2:28  For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29  But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Gal 3:26  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29  And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

This is all true, and yet it is not time for us to rule the kingdoms of this world. When that day comes, you and I will be given the power and the physical dominion to fight for our King.

Joh 8:23  And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

Joh 18:36  Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

The word 'world' which appears twice in each of these two verses is translated from the Greek word 'kosmos', and it means the nations of the societies which God has given to the basest of men (Dan 4:17). It means the physical kingdoms of this physical world.

The day will come though when the kingdom of this 'kosmos' will become the kingdom of our Lord and His Christ:

Rev 11:15  And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Rev 11:16  And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
Rev 11:17  Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
Rev 11:18  And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
Rev 11:19  And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

In Christ, we are the heavens and the temple within the heavens. Christ is the ark of His testament within us, and the "lightnings, and voices and thunderings,...the earthquake and great hail" are one and all a part of His judgment of and the death of our old man and the destruction of his entire Babylonian kingdom first within us.

1Pe 4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

"What will be the end of them that obey not the gospel of God?" It will be the same end for those who obey not the gospel of God then as it is for the kingdom of our old man here and now in this age. God is judging Babylon in "every man... each in his own order".

The Medes and the Persians who destroyed Babylon, are the same as the symbol of the ten horn upon the beast in Revelation 17. Because God has put it in the hearts of the "ten kings" to destroy Babylon, we are all brought by the sovereign God to our wits' end, and we turn on Babylon and destroy her within us to this extent:

Deu 20:16  But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:

We all live out those words in our own time and in our own way. We all "read, hear, and... keep" (Rev 1:3) the work of the ten horns upon the beast within us:

Rev 17:12  And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Rev 17:13  These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
Rev 17:14  These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Rev 17:15  And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
Rev 17:16  And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Rev 17:17  For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
Rev 17:18  And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

As with all things in scripture, there is an inward and an outward application for both Babylon and for these ten horns. Therefore there is, was, and there will be, an inward and an outward fulfillment of these words concerning the judgment of Babylon:

Isa 13:20  It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
Isa 13:21  But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
Isa 13:22  And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

Verses 21-22 describe those who inhabit Babylon until this very day:

Rev 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

We must understand that when we come out of Babylon we are not spiritual giants. The exact opposite is true. We are not being judged while we are in Babylon. Therefore there is much more to the sum of God's word than simply being brought to our wits' end and then being brought to our desired haven. It takes time to get from our wits' end to our desired haven, and there are lessons to learn on the way.

Psa 107:25  For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
Psa 107:26  They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
Psa 107:27  They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.
Psa 107:28  Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
Psa 107:29  He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Psa 107:30  Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Psa 107:31  Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

A very important part of "His goodness and... His wonderful works" includes showing us that even though we are 'com[ing] out of [Babylon, we] are yet carnal babes in Christ".

'Bringing us to our desired haven' is itself a process which involves becoming bitter toward Babylon, 'making her desolate and naked, and eating her flesh, and burning her with fire', while we are "yet carnal babes in Christ":

1Co 3:1  And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
1Co 3:2  I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
1Co 3:3  For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
1Co 3:4  For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

Outward Babylon is not at this moment being judged, so being dragged to our wits' end and becoming a "carnal... babe in Christ" is just the beginning of our judgment. Many in the body of Christ will, at this stage of our experience, yet have to show us much patience and will have to bear with our weaknesses and our infirmities, while remaining strong in the faith and not permitting arguments over already established doctrine. It is at this point that all these verses will become familiar to us:

Ecc 5:1  Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.
Ecc 5:2  Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
Ecc 5:3  For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

Rom 14:1  Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Rom 14:2  For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
Rom 14:3  Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

Rom 15:1  We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Rom 15:2  Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
Rom 15:3  For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
Rom 15:4  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Rom 15:5  Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
Rom 15:6  That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Being of one mind and speaking with one mouth is completely anathema and forbidden in the kingdom of Babylon with her many daughters whose creed is "agreement in the essentials, tolerance in the non-essentials and love in all things". Anyone who subscribes to such an ungodly creed has no idea what 'love' is.

This is love, and anything other than this is nothing less than enabling others to reject the true love of God:

1Jn 5:2  By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Those who love God want to keep this  'beseeching' commandment as much as any of His other commandments:

1Co 1:10  Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

The "one mind and one mouth [which] glorif[ies] God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Rom 15:6), will be quick to acknowledge that the pouring out in our lives of the seven plagues of the seven angels is the judgment of Babylon within our own lives:

Rev 14:8  And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Rev 16:19  And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

No one comes into the Lord's temple in heaven until the seven plagues of the seven angels are fulfilled:

Rev 15:8  And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Therefore, the first verse of our study today is a very great 'two-edged sword' blessing. It is through the death of our old man, the destruction of Babylon within us, that a very precious new man, Christ within us, begins to be born.

Isa 13:12  I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

Next week, if the Lord wills, we will see what the reward is for doing what the Lord says, and being granted to stand faithful in the Lord's words to the end. We will be reading Isaiah 14, which Babylon cannot accept for what it says, and has therefore falsely twisted into what we are told is the fall of Satan from heaven. In reality it is a parable of the victory of God's elect over the self-exalted king of Babylon within us. Lord willing, we will see what Isaiah 14 really teaches us:

Isa 14:1  For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
Isa 14:2  And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
Isa 14:3  And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
Isa 14:4  That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
Isa 14:5  The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.
Isa 14:6  He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.
Isa 14:7  The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.
Isa 14:8  Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.
Isa 14:9  Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
Isa 14:10  All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?
Isa 14:11  Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
