Jehovah Witnesses
Mike,
Thanks for your last response. I saved it. Has a Jehovah’s Witness ever come to your house? If so, what did you say to them?

Hi J____,
Thank you for your question asking what is do when Jehovah’s Witnesses come to your house?
They have been here twice in the 27 years I have lived here. The first time two young men came who could not answer my questions. So we had a very pleasant exchange, and I told them that I really felt that they needed to be able to answer my questions if they expected me to have any fellowship with them. They told me that they assured me that they knew a man who could answer my questions, and that they would be back the following week.
The following week a man about my age returned to our home with these same young men, and I asked him to explain to me the same verses I had asked the earlier group. I used their own translation, The New World Translation of The Holy Scriptures, and we read these verses…
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
1Co 15:24 Then [ cometh] the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy [ that] shall be destroyed [ is] death.
I asked him how God could claim to have destroyed death if as much as one person were still dead? He had no answer. So I asked him about this verse:
1Ti 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
Again he had no answer. So I asked him about this verse.
1Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
I’m quoting the King James because I do not have the New Word Translation on my e- sword, but the NWT says the same thing, and the gentleman simply looked at me and answered, “Mr. Vinson, I don’t think that I can be of any help to you.” That is the last time the Jehovah’s Witnesses have been to my door.
It was obvious that I was beyond hope.
I wanted to ask about these verses too, but didn’t have the opportunity.
Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil [ Hebrew ra; same Hebrew word tranlsated evil in “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil]: I the LORD do all these things.
Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
1Sa 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.
1Sa 16:15 And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
I hope that gives you some guidance in how you should deal with them when they come to your door. Be courteous and be humble, but insist on answers to your questions.
Your brother in Christ,
Mike
