Diviners Psychics And Preachers

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi again J___,

I read E____’s e- mail. While he is certainly on the right track so far as the psychics are concerned, he fits right in with Carlton Pearson and his ‘Christ did it all for you’ crowd, when it comes to his understanding of ‘grace.’

According to him there is no pressing need to make any change in your lifestyle after you come to know Christ.

That is exactly what Jude was talking about when he mentioned “turning the grace of God into lasciviousness .”

Jdg 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

When you deny that Christ changes your life, you are denying Christ! Christ makes us “free from sin.” He does not make us ‘free to sin.’

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [ in the likeness] of [ his] resurrection: Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Rom 6:7 For he that is dead [ to sin] is freed from sin.

I do not know E____. I imagine that if I were to meet him I would enjoy his fellowship as long as we did not discuss the purpose and function of grace. But I discern a spirit of lasciviousness in E____. It comes right from his own mouth:

Are these not the very words of Korah just before the earth opened its mouth and swallowed him and all that pertained to him?

Num 16:1 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took [ men]:
Num 16:2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:
Num 16:3 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, [ Ye take] too much upon you, seeing all the congregation [ are] holy, every one of them, and the LORD [ is] among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

It is the same today. Anyone who as I do, points to Tit 2:10-12 and exhorts his fellow Christians to “forsake ungodliness and live godly lives in this present world” is accused of self- righteousness and trying to ‘earn his own salvation.’

Isn’t it interesting that the same people who tell you that you cannot take credit for the fact that you believe in Christ, cannot see that neither can you take credit for the “good works that He hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

I am grateful that you seem to see through this most insidious lie about what ‘grace’ is and what it does in the life of the believer.

Now lets put a little scriptural meat on E____’s teaching about psychics.

Exo 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Isa 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because[ there is no light in them.

Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Deu 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
Deu 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Deu 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
Deu 18:14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

Here is the best scripture of all on these matters:

1Jn 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

The only way you can detect a false prophet is to be familiar with the word of God.

I am not familiar with the ‘Gospel Of Grace Ministries.’ If they believe that the book of Revelation was fulfilled in 70 A. D., they simply do not know the Christ or His Word which “is, was and will be.” As I have said before, Preterists know only one third of the Christ of the book of Revelation.

I hope this has answered your questions,

Mike
