Deu 4:25-31 If You Turn to the Lord...He will Not Forsake You

Deu 4:25 When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:
Deu 4:26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.
Deu 4:27 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.
Deu 4:28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
Deu 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
Deu 4:30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
Deu 4:31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

I want to start the study with this verse which describes our verses under discussion.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Departing from iniquity is departing from unrighteousness, departing from unrighteousness is departing from hades, departing from hades is departing from the world of the unseen. This word iniquity is defined in Strong's 16 times as 'unrighteousness', 6 times 'iniquity', 2 times 'unjust' and 1 time 'wrong'. So, unrighteousness would be the correct way of translating this word.

The following is a proper translation of this word , in this verse;

2Ti 2:19 sure, nevertheless, hath the foundation of God stood, having this seal, 'The Lord hath known those who are His,' and 'Let him depart from unrighteousness—every one who is naming the name of Christ.' (YLT)

This verse coincides with this old testament verse;

Eze 33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live (because of what Christ has done and not we have, are or will do); if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

The same verse in the ESV:

Eze 33:13 Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet if he trusts in his righteousness and does injustice, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered, but in his injustice that he has done he shall die.(ESV)

The following verses in Hebrews show even deeper;

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

This is the definition for G93 , the word in discussion; iniquity.

It is interesting that the Young's literal translation translates this word "unrighteousness" or "unjust" in all of the verses above. It never uses the word "iniquity". It is important to point this out because one cannot have sins of the flesh without the sin of self-righteousness. The unrighteous accounting of yourself is independent from Christ's righteousness, in your ACCEPTING OF HIM as your Saviour. Without the law sin is dead, but what does the law do?

The law revives, or brings to life, sins of the flesh, because we have the sin (singular) of unrighteousness. Without pureness of heart, being righteous, we cannot see God as God, nor does He acknowledge us as His Sons (Mat 5:8). Unrighteousness is any thought or act physically carried out or thought to be, which leaves the individual to say "I just did that". James brings this out in a deeper understanding of this principle in the Young's literal translation;

Jas 3:6 and the tongue is a fire, the world of the unrighteousness, so the tongue is set in our members, which is spotting our whole body, and is setting on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by the gehenna.

The tongue is a boastful litle member that reveals what is in our heart. It brings out that which defiles us, the unrighteous way we look at ourselves separately and independently from God (Mat 15:11). This is what causes the fire of Gehenna coming from our mouth. Gehenna fire is the fire of God's word which burns us up (Mat 5:22).

Our little tongue will be the instrument which proves we are unrighteous before God because what it says comes from Hades, the place of the dead, unrighteousness (Luk 18:11). If you are not righteous before the LORD, then you are unrighteous, but to be unrighteous is to be in the place of the dead - Hades (Joh 8:24). This is why DEATH and Hell (hades) ARE BOTH cast into the lake of fire (Rev 20:14).

All that we are, think and do are submerged into the Spirit where both will be burnt with an unquenchable fire until all that we thought we were, is consumed (Mat 3:11) and God is seen as The all in all (1Co 15:28). The King James bible and most translations translate Gehenna and Hades into the same word "HELL". Such erroneous translating only fans the flames our our self-righteous nature, and we begin to boast of why we are not going to an everlasting fire as will most people by pointing out what we did by our purported freewill.

Let's look at scripture to see how we, the dead in spirit, and the place from where the dead come, are both cast into the fire of the Spirit of God, called the lake of fire. And all that we are, are burnt up (1Co 3:13) until we are saved from death itself by seeing Christ as the Creator of all the things which we once thought we were for the end goal of glorifying The Father.

Mat 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

That which comes out of us defiles us because it comes from the place of the dead, hades, by our little tongue which kindles the fire of Gehenna.

Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

This is an example of unrighteous judgment of ourselves which comes from the place of the dead and kindles the fire of God's word, the Gehenna. Hades is the place of the dead in spirit, and Gehenna is the place of the fire produced by God's word which torments the unseeing. We must not forget that the English word "hell" is just that, an English word which describes Gehenna and hades according to their false doctrinal knowledge. In the Hebrew and Greek, the words Shoel, Hades and Gehenna do not correlate to everlasting punishment. For one, aion does not mean everlasting. It means "an age". The definition for Gehenna is:

So the root to the word Gehenna means pride and arrogance, not everlasting burning in a fictional place called hell which was derived from the writings of pagan philosophers like Plato. We have all been taken away in this false doctrine because it exalts the pride of mankind by saying, "I did a, b, and c to keep myself from hell." The truth is, we shall all experience the refining fire of God's word in the lake of fire during our time appointed to receive the new wine in new bottle, when we are resurrected in new spiritual bodies.

Mat 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Hades is akin to the pit in Revelation where we are blinded by the smoke of all the false doctrines which have, by God's design, kept us from the truth. The smoke indicates the step before the flame. Things are heating up, and we are getting ready to go into the fire that will give us truth, by exposing the lies.

Rev 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
Rev 9:2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
Rev 9:3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
Rev 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
Rev 9:5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.
Rev 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

This is the Gehenna fire which comes from the torment of God's word on the carnal mind of those in Hades.

Joh 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

If we are not given eyes to see that Christ is the only One who has life in Him, we will remain in the place of the dead and be cast into the lake of fire in the second resurrection where the truth will then be revealed to us. If we see this now, we have been given eyes to see by the fire of the Spirit of God that burns up what we thought we were.

Rev 20:13 and the sea did give up those dead in it, and THE death and THE hades did give up the dead in them, and they were judged, each one according to their works;
Rev 20:14 and THE death and THE hades were cast to THE lake of the fire—this is the second death;
Rev 20:15 and if any one was not found written in the scroll of the life (and no flesh is), he was cast to the lake of the fire. (CLV)

No one in the flesh is found written in the book of life, for flesh and blood that comes from the place of the dead, cannot enter the kingdom of God, which is life (1Co 15:50).

Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: (Jer 5:14)
Mat 3:12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. (Rev 20:14, 15).

1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

1Co 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
1Co 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The word hades is defined as;

The place or state of the unseen are those who do not see the truth of God. This word comes from G1 in the negative -alpha and united with G1492 -the unseen. The dead originate (alpha, have their beginning) from the unseen world, where they were created, the place or state of unseeing. This is the description of where we all originate - hades. We live in a place of darkness where we cannot spiritually see. This place of our origination and that which it produces, Gehenna fire, has our little tongue revealing our thoughts in the flesh. They are both cast into the lake of fire where they both are consumed. They are consumed in the sense that we are made to see that all which we thought we were since our conception, and that which our tongue boasted, was dead and unrighteous (iniquity). All our actions and words in the flesh were sinful, no matter whether good or evil according to the dead eye of man. Everything we ever did was unrighteous because it originated (G1) from the place of the spiritually dead.

When we are born again this role switches, and we are then able to see the unseen of what we are and give glory to God for creating it so. Those with eyes to see then see that which was hidden from us and the world. That knowledge hidden is that all mankind will see the truth in the lake of fire, where they will be recreated from the Alpha in the positive - born again. However, this time mankind will be born from the death of the Seed in the spirit and not from the flesh in nature.

Do you see the highlighted word "SEE" and where it originates in the positive? It stems from G1492 - The same word that made up the word hades along with alpha, in the negative. Jesus' fleshly mind was created in a place like ours, flesh, but He was not left in hades like we are. He was given eyes to see before His flesh was able to be corrupted by sins of the flesh. He was given sight to see what we could not see because we were in a place of the unseen, Hades. He had the full measure of the Spirit of His Father and was able to bring His flesh into subjection and not commit the acts of the flesh that would bring on the fire of Gehenna. He had the same flesh as ours but was able by the Spirit to bring His flesh into obedience. Let's look at some verses that bring this out;

Joh 9:1 And as Jesus passed by, he sawG1492 a man (Adam) which was blind from his birth.
Joh 9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
(what did Adam do that made him be in a place where he couldn't see?)
Joh 9:3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned (1Ti 2:14), nor his parents (Rom 9:14): but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

Who was this man which Jesus SAW who was blind from birth, living in hades, the place of the unseen? Adam, and all of mankind in Adam, are typified by this blind man.

Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death (the same death that's cast into the lake of fire) reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

Rom 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation (living in hades from birth); even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life (living in life from being born again).

All of us in Adam, which is all of humanity, Jesus saw in hades, but we could not SEE Him, because we thought we 'saw'. But the dead do not see. All we could do was hear and fear His words as thunderings. We could not see His image, so we built one of ourselves.

Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked (in hades) according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature (Jas 3:6 - setteth on fire the course of nature) the children of wrath, even as others.

Isa 44:9 They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.

What does all of this have to do with Deuterononmy 4:25-31? The children, and children's children, are all the dead false doctrines we have produced in our land, which we believe we have conquered. We will make a graven image of ourselves, and we will be corrupted by what WE CALL Christianity. Once our eyes are open, we see that we have created an image of the dead and done exactly what He has told us we would do. We believe we've come out of Egypt (the world) and entered the promised land, partaken of Christ, and conquered all the giants in our land, the sins of the flesh. Actually what we've done is create an idol of ourselves from the place of the dead - the unseen. From this alpha-beginning place God created Adam - all of mankind, the place of the unseen - hades. The only way we get out of hades in this life is to suffer the unquenchable fire of God's truth in the Light of Christ.

Joh 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

What does Christ mean when He says He is the Light? Does it mean that now that I see I am a sinner I can then change myself into a good man and become loved by God? Does this mean that if I just try hard enough I can become a better man because I now know I'm a sinner? No. It does not mean any of that. Those are actually the children's children of which our scriptures are speaking, and the idol we create because we are still in darkness. We thought we had reached the promised land because we were told we were sinners, and we can be at rest now. We say, "I was a sinner, but now I know what I was, so now I will change myself into a good man."

We've just created an image of ourselves in our land, we've made children and told God He must accept it. We forget God and what He has witnessed against us by our heavens and our earth, and we make an image of the very thing we were told was dead. Why does God do this? Because He first shows us in our earth what we are by our actions, and now He shows us who we are in our heavens by thoughts of what we can become by our own actions, both being flesh. We didn't believe His report against us. We tried to clean up the outer cup by works and never thought about the inner cup.

Joh 12:36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and DID HIDE HIMSELF FROM THEM.
Joh 12:37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
Joh 12:38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled (this is why they couldn't believe, to fulfill prophesy), which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
Joh 12:39 Therefore they could not believe, BECAUSE that Esaias said again,
Joh 12:40 HE HATH BLINDED THEIR EYES, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Why couldn't we see or hear? Because He was fulfilling prophesy, and He was fulfilling prophesy by HIDING HIMSELF FROM US by blinding our eyes and hardening our hearts. Why would God HIDE Christ from us? So that the flesh could not see or understand with the carnal heart and the flesh be converted. God has never intended to convert the flesh. God has never intended for flesh to see or for flesh to hear, because flesh and blood will never enter the kingdom of God. This truth from the very beginning was intended for those with eyes to see and ears to hear. God has used our flesh's evil little tongue to speak the words that create the fire of Gehenna that keeps us from life.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

God uses man's little tongue to act as the flaming sword which keeps mankind from Life, from Christ.

Psa 57:4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men (children's children), whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Psa 64:3 Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

Hos 7:16 They return, but not to the most High (we return to ourselves for help): they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

So, how does God keep us from truth? By our very own words, our tongue. We use His words, the very thing that is sent to heal us, to keep us from Him. He uses it to blind us into thinking we brought ourselves out of Egypt, and we used our own feet to walk through the desert right into the promised land. He KEEPS us from the tree of life, CHRIST, by our own tongue which turns God's words into a flaming fire. He created our tongue to create the flames of gehenna.

Mat 5:22 but I say to you, that every one who is angry at his brother without cause, shall be in danger of the judgment, and whoever may say to his brother, Empty fellow! shall be in danger of the sanhedrim, and whoever may say, Rebel! shall be in danger of the gehenna of the fire. YLT

Jas 3:5 so also the tongue is a little member, and doth boast greatly; lo, a little fire how much wood it doth kindle!
Jas 3:6 and the tongue is a fire, THE WORLD of the unrighteousness, so the tongue is set in our members, which is spotting our whole body, and is setting on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by the gehenna. YLT

Rom 11:33 O depth of riches, and wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable His judgments, and untraceable His ways!
Rom 11:34 for who did know the mind of the Lord? or who did become His counsellor?
Rom 11:35 or who did first give to Him, and it shall be given back to him again?
Rom 11:36 because of Him, and through Him, and to Him are the all things; to Him is the glory—to the ages. Amen. (YLT)

The land which we possess is hades, and the Gehenna fire comes from this place we think we have created. It is all part of the journey to get us to where He has predestined we be, the lake of fire. He is teaching us not to worship anything that comes from our hands. He is teaching us to be at peace with resting in the fire, to be able to walk in the fire and not be burnt by it.

Dan 3:27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

When we see that it is God's plan we will fall seven times and seven times get back up, we are able to be at peace in the fire. Each time the fire increases and each time the fire gets longer, all for the perfecting of the Body of Christ so that we come out from worshipping ourselves. Each time we are able to cry out to the Creator of the trial, and each time we are led through the fire by Christ in us. We will have tribulations, but we can be at peace that these same trials have been accomplished by other members of the body.

Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

1Pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pe 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

We are going to be scattered at times, we are going to be led to stray at times, we are going to side with the flesh, but in the end we are going to be restored after each trial, because God is merciful. For the trial is not about you or me per se, but about the growth of the Body of Christ as a whole. It is about the nourishment of the Body of Christ in our LATTER DAYS, of which we are partakers.
