Deuteronomy – Deu 25:5-10 Significance of Marrying the Second Brother

[Study Aired July 23, 2021]

Deu 25:5  If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband’s brother unto her.
Deu 25:6  And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
Deu 25:7  And if the man like not to take his brother’s wife, then let his brother’s wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband’s brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband’s brother.
Deu 25:8 Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her;
Deu 25:9  Then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.
Deu 25:10  And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.

These verses are speaking of two men and one woman. The first thing we must understand is this is not some antiquated Jewish law that does not apply today. In fact this law is still in place today as much as it was then and more so, because we see things in the spirit. The woman is the church that is united to Christ. The first Brother who dies and does not bring forth children from the woman is Christ. The second brother is us. Because Christ came and died on the cross to be raised from the dead, He was able to send forth the spirit that would allow us to implant seed to the wife, the church. The children born to the woman are not the second brother’s but Christ’s children. The first time I heard that Christ never converted anyone, my flesh said “Blasphemy!” but my spirit said this was truth. How could Christ bring forth fruit when the spirit had not been sent to impregnant the woman? Without the spirit of God indwelling the woman, no children are able to be born. It is just spilling the seed on the ground, with no chance of conception.

Gen 38:6  And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar.
Gen 38:7  And Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.
Gen 38:8  And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.
Gen 38:9  And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
Gen 38:10  And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.

Before the death and resurrection of Christ, all the seed was spilled on the ground, on the flesh. It could not produce children in the likeness of its Maker. From Adam until the day of Pentecost all seed was spilled on the ground and was never able to bring forth children to Christ.

Mat 11:11  Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

John was the best that the ground (the flesh) could bring forth, but the least in the kingdom is greater than the ground, for it was based on corruptible flesh. When we say we can obtain the kingdom from the works of the flesh, we are casting the seed to the ground, defiling the truth.

Psa 74:7  They have cast fire into thy sanctuary,  they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.

Psa 89:39  Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

Psa 89:44  Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.

I have said before and say again, all of scripture from Genesis to Revelation has to do with one subject and one only – the Sovereignty of God. Without knowing the total, absolute supremacy of God, one cannot know truth. This is the purpose of Christ coming to the earth, to the ground; to give this light to those who would bring forth children to His name. All the prophets from Genesis to Malachi, if standing together in one place, could never do what we can do, who hold the truth – bring forth children to the name of Christ. Without the indwelling of the spirit of God, the seed falls on the ground, and the fowls of our heavens eat them up, or the sun rises and burns them, or the thorns in our ground choke the seed, and all of them become unprofitable. Those where there is good ground is where the Seed is sent to bring forth children to His name. That good ground is those who were predestined to receive what only they can receive. This parable is also speaking of the three stages of the process of judgment we must go through to come to see the good ground.

Mat 13:18  Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
Mat 13:19  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
Mat 13:20  But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
Mat 13:21  Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
Mat 13:22  He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
Mat 13:23  But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

We do not receive the truth because we worked harder than others, were better people than others, read more, studied more, were prettier than others, nor anything else you can surmise. We know what we know because God predestined we know what we know. That is the reason and the only reason. A good farmer or gardener knows that what makes the ground the best for seed to grow is the fertilizer in the ground. What makes the ground to be fertile? Rotting plants, leaves, bugs, animal waste, and the breakdown of these matters in the ground by water and sunlight all enrich the soil. What this tells us spiritually is that our flesh must be broken down and seen as waste for the growth of the Seed.

Unless we are given to see what is in our flesh, we cannot produce seed to our Brother. We will have the thought of Onan and think as he did, that the seed would not be his. Because we want some glory for what we have done, we want to produce something that looks and talks like we do, not like our Brother.

When my son was born, I was so happy I had a son who would be just like his old man. I taught him how to fish, how to hunt and took him on my back fishing as a baby and even hunting. However, he is nothing like me. So, too, it is with what we bring forth without knowing who and what we are. It will never be like Christ because it will be of the ground; dead and without the capability to grow into the image of the Seed. This is what Christ was telling those who questioned Him about the seven men who had taken the same wife.

Mat 22:23  The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
Mat 22:24  Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
Mat 22:25  Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
Mat 22:26  Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
Mat 22:27  And last of all the woman died also.
Mat 22:28  Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
Mat 22:29  Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Mat 22:30  For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Mat 22:31  But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
Mat 22:32  I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Mat 22:33  And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.

When Christ told them that they did “err” and then told them that they did not know “the power of God”, He was in essence telling them that they were spilling their seed on the ground. The word “err” in this verse means the following:

But when we look at how it is mostly translated, we see something very interesting.

It is more translated deceive, deceived, or deceiveth, a total of 25 times out of 46 times the word is used compared to the six times it is translated err. This makes it clear that we are deceived by the Deceiver into thinking we are capable of creating on our own. In the flesh, we are only passing on what was created in our bodies by God, we do not create it in our bodies by thought or by our creation. What is passed on to create is what the Creator has created to be passed on.

This natural example gives us the truth in the spirit. What is passed on to create is done so because the Creator has passed it on to do so. He is the power that creates, not us, in the natural and in the spiritual. I have never known a person in my life or heard of one who said to himself, “I think I’ll create seed in my body to create another human.” The process is like breathing. It happens without my thought because it is created to do what it does by the Creator, not us. We are deceived into thinking we give life in the natural, and in the spiritual, we are deceived into thinking that it is all of men “FOR” God. The reason we think this way is because we, as the Pharisees, do not know “the power of God”. We are blinded and impudent in the truth that brings life. We believe the power of the flesh and that the actions of the flesh are so powerful they follow us to a rock called heaven, because we do not know the power of God.

What is revealed in the next life is what we lived in this life, and that it was the actual creation process, forming us into what we will be in the next life. The process we are going through now is the creative process of our Creator, molding us into what we shall be. Our actions, separate and independent from God in this life, do not follow us into the next life as the deciding factor into what we will be. Our actions in this life are what God has planned as the process to recreate us into the image of Christ in the next life. They are the molding form, they are what God has planned to mold us into what we will be. This life is not the end; it is only the beginning. It is what the Creator is using to mold us into the image of Christ. This is the power of God!

1Co 1:23  But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1Co 1:24  But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Rom 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

1Pe 1:5  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

It is the power of God that creates us, not our fabled free moral agency or lack thereof. Those who know scripture understand that God is the power, not themselves, and what we are created to do in this life does not carry over into the next life, such as marriage, as the deciding factor of what we shall be. What is carried over is for the purpose of understanding God by how He molded them. This is the power of God.

Yesterday, the movers brought Brother Kenny’s things from Florida [to his new home]. One of the people who showed up was the wife of the moving company’s owner. She was taking pictures of the beautiful trees and scenery and began a conversation with my employee, who confesses herself to be a Christian. The lady began to say that she was into meditation and people come to her and pay her for her advice on their problems. She then shows them how to meditate on nature to heal them from their problems. She was telling my employee these things as I was speaking to her husband. Well, as a lamb to the slaughter, my employee took her card and phone number so she could learn how to meditate with nature.

They go to a brick and mortar building every Sunday and yet the first mystic that shows up promising relief from their planned problems, they are all on board. Inwardly it upset me at first because I thought of all the conversations we had on scripture and Who God is, was and will be and yet the first mystic soothsayer who shows up, it’s “Wow, can I get your number so you can help me with my problems?” Then I realized something I already knew but now even deeper, “It is not of them that run or of them that will but OF GOD WHO SHOWS MERCY,” and knowing the truth in this life is mercy.

Rom 9:16  So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

God does not show mercy to everyone in this life and as a matter of fact He sent the mystic soothsayer to draw this person away from what she had heard from me. It is not given to her to know the truth. This is a powerful statement of bringing forth fruit unto the dead brother, because both of these people will be fruit to Christ in the lake of fire, and we will go over the why’s and why not’s of what we experienced yesterday. Both of these people will come to the truth through the mold of these things which God had predestined they experience to draw them away from the truth in this life.

Mat 13:10  And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Mat 13:11  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Mat 13:12  For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Mat 13:13  Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mat 13:14  And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Mat 13:15  For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Mat 13:16  But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Mat 13:17  For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

What I heard coming from the Mystic’s mouth was, “You can be as a god knowing good and evil. You can understand how you created all your problems and then fix them, if you only will submit to nature.” Inwardly I was growing angry, inwardly I was wanting to slap my employee upside the head and say, “Wake up!”, but I came to see that it is not meant for them to have the truth. In my false doctrine way of thinking they could believe if they wanted to, I was let down because I know they have heard the truth.

However, this experience taught me I am not God. We naturally do not want to hear the truth, because the truth is too hard for us in the flesh. The truth is that we do not have the power in ourselves to believe, and in fact, we have no power whatsoever. We are powerless over what we hear and see. When the Mystic showed up yesterday and my employee ran as a lamb to the slaughter, it was to take away from them what little they did have.

Mat 13:12  For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

This last line gave me peace, believe it or not, because it tells me that what I had been giving my employee was indeed truth, for if it had not been, then the enemy would not have been given to send a messenger of his all the way from Florida to the countryside of Kentucky to steal what little my employee had. This messenger of Satan was wearing beautiful clothes, gold jewelry on her hands and neck, and had her hair perfectly styled. It spoke intelligently, softly, and said all the right things that in minutes had the poor lamb standing out in the yard looking up to the trees for answers and willing to give money for healing from problems that she had created (in her mind). It is not given to many people to have what we have, because what we have was given to us from the Creator of our lives. We who are called AND chosen, have been given to know the truth in this age. 99.99999% of humanity has not been given the truth, and what little truth they have is stolen by a soothsayer speaking great swelling words of VANITY. The enemy is sent to try us and to disappoint us in the lack of interest from those around us, but in fact it has strengthened me in knowing that what I have is so precious that only the few elected Israelites can obtain it and go on to carry the name of their Father, Christ, Who died for them. We are given to understand the truths of scripture and the power of God because we are who we are. We have truth, therefore we are given more truth. We have it because it was created in us to obtain it. We did not do it from some work of the flesh. It has been done before the world was ever created.

Mat 13:12  For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

What a line to see, “Whosoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance.” That is an amazing scripture for us to see. What a privilege it is to know that what we possess is so powerful that the enemy will be sent and go to great lengths to take away what little we have.

Mat 13:19  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not [understands it not because it is not given to them to understand], then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

The enemy is to be known to us, Israel, as “the house of him who hath his shoe loosed” because he refuses to let a child be born to Christ, Who has died and is resurrected in the life of a child who bears His name. The seed is spilled on the ground and that tells us that when the soothsayer told my employee some doctrine of how it was in their power to access peace through meditation in nature, the seed was spilled on their ground, giving them glory in what they do. Flesh does not want to glorify God for all that He does. It would rather look to the ground (earth, flesh) for glory. It is more glorious to the flesh to spill the truth on the ground than to give all honor and glory to God. The enemy’s shoe is loosed. He cannot walk in truth, neither can he run the race set before him. No one can run or walk without tripping when his shoe is loosed. All false doctrine is sent for that purpose; to loose the shoe of him who does not know the truth. To loosen the shoe is to unravel the walk of the person to know the intricate details of His truth. Christ’s doctrine is exactly that: no one can, in the flesh or by religion, soothsaying or meditation, unloose His shoes, because no one in the flesh is worthy.

Luk 3:16  John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Even John the baptist, of whom Christ said, “Of those born of woman there is none greater” (Mat 11:11), could not unravel the walk of Christ, it was not given to him to know the truth. Only those to whom it has been given to know the truth can know the truths of God through Christ and are worthy to bring forth children in the name of Christ, to intimately know His walk, because we are the feet of Him who brings the truth.

Rom 10:15  And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

We are sent to bring forth children in the name of Him Who has died, and that name is Christ. If we understand that truth, then we know the power of God and know the scriptures. We must also remember that the inward application to having the woman spit in our face is when we err from the truth and are then corrected. We must all go through the winnowing process where we are fanned by the spirit of God to loosen the chaff from the wheat.

Luk 3:17  Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

When we are spit in the face, it is a good thing, for in that action our eyes are opened and we see where we were in error.

Mar 8:22  And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
Mar 8:23  And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
Mar 8:24  And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
Mar 8:25  After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
Mar 8:26  And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.

The woman is the church, and because she is the bride of Christ she is as Christ; the two shall be one (Eph 5:31). In her spittle she is able to give sight and show others that their shoe has been loosened by false doctrine. This truth is then able to show them how to bring forth children to the name of Christ.
