Children of Belivers and Babylon

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi D____,
I am encouraged to hear that your eyes and ears are being opened to the things of the spirit by what you have been reading on iswasandwillbe. com
Thank you for your question. You ask if we come out of Babylon, will our children have to go into Babylon. I have answered this question in a talk, but I can’t remember anyone asking this in a e- mail before.
The short answer is that all of God’s people ‘come out of her:’

Rev 18:1  And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
Rev 18:2  And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Rev 18:3  For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Rev 18:4  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Notice that verse three says “all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.”  Then verse four is the call for God’s people to “come out of her.”
How anyone can read these verses and deny that those coming out of Babylon have drunk of Babylon’s wine of the wrath of her fornication, and committed fornication with her, is inconceivable, except for the fact that we are plainly told that God blinds the spiritual eyes and closes the spiritual ears of those he deceives:

Eze 14:9  And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet , and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
Rom 11:8  (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
Mat 13:10  And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Mat 13:11  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Mat 13:12  For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Mat 13:13  Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Mat 13:14  And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

Babylon is, was and will be God’s apostate kingdom, and will receive her plagues in her due time. But we to have been, in our due time in the past, “children of wrath even as others:

Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times pas t in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature t he children of wrath, even as others.

If you have been reading iswasandwillbe. com then you know that our emphasis is on the fact that “the kingdom of God [ heaven] is within you.”

Luk 17:20  And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Luk 17:21  Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Notice that what Matthew calls “the kingdom of heaven” is called the kingdom of God in Mark:

Mat 13:11  He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Mar 4:11  And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

So when Christ tells the Pharisees in Luk 17, that “the kingdom of God is within you,” what He is actually saying is that “when the kingdom of God comes” it will first come within those to whom “it is given to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but unto those that are without” it is not given.
What is given to those “without?”

“U nto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:”

Parables which “it is not given to them to understand.”
That  is the condition of all who are in Babylon. And there is no one who escapes the condition of “to them it is not given to understand” for some part of their life. If it were given to our Lord Himself to be “called out of Egypt”, how can we hope that our children will avoid having to ‘come out of Babylon?’
This is a question which I myself have had to face. My children have been taught the truth about universal salvation from their youth. They have never been taught the lies of the immortality of the soul, eternal hell, free moral agency and many of the other lies of the doctrines of Babylon.
But in spite of their comparatively sheltered life, they have been and will all be forced to face down and reject each of these false doctrines for themselves. How is that accomplished when they have a family which refutes the doctrines of Babylon? Believe God when He says that “all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”
All of my children and all of your children will be forced to face the doctrine of Babylon and either succumb to them or “come out from among them.” We will all “drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication” through friends at school, through the “historical orthodox Christian” radio and television stations and through the constant struggle which the great harlot must endure with the unruly beast on which she sits.
One of the hardest struggles you and your children will face in this life is the tendency to be sucked into “the affairs of this life,” which is just another way of saying “the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

2Ti 2:3  Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

2Ti 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

Babylon will tug at the strings of your fleshy heart to get you entangled with the affairs of this life. You and all of your children will be fighting the doctrines of Babylon till the day you die. Anyone who is in that blessed an holy first resurrection will have “come out of her.”
Babylon is that same beast “coming up out of the earth with two horns like a lamb,” but there is something about this beast which only those with eyes to see and ears to hear can detect. This beast “speaks as a dragon.” It does not have the voice of the True Shepherd. But only the sheep belonging to the True Shepherd can detect the “voice of a stranger,” a voice which “speaks as a dragon.”

Rev 13:11  And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
Joh 10:4  And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
Joh 10:5  And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

The sad Truth is that no immature human child can detect or distinguish the “voice of a stranger” and the “speech of a dragon” without first going into Babylon and being called out of Babylon. But going into Babylon has no more to do with going to a physical church building than ‘coming out of Babylon’ has to do with coming out of a physical church building.
As I pointed out earlier, millions of Christians can see the corruption within the church. Millions of Christians the world over quit going to church and believe that they have “come out of Babylon.” But these same children of God still have all or many of the doctrines of Babylon firmly embedded within themselves. Most Christians who come to understand the doctrine of universal salvation actually think that this doctrine is the “strong meat” of God’s Word spoken of in Hebrew’s five:

Heb 5:12  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

In reality, the doctrine of universal salvation is but the “milk of the word” spoken of by Paul when he “determined to know nothing among the Corinthians but Christ and Him crucified.”

1Co 3:1  And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
1Co 3:2  I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

And what was this “milk” with which Paul was feeding these “carnal… babes in Christ?” Well, it certainly wasn’t the poisoned ‘milk’ of eternal hell fire being fed to the billions of today’s Christians. Here is the “milk… not meat” with which Paul was feeding these “carnal… babes in Christ.” It is right here in this same book:

1Co 15:22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

And it is also right there in Hebrews where ‘strong meat’ is contrasted with milk. And what are we told is “milk” of God’s Word over in Hebrews? Here are the six doctrines which we are to grow beyond if we ever hope to weaned off of the milk of God’s Word. What we are being told is that these six doctrines are the milk of God’s Word:

Heb 6:1  Therefore leaving [ that is ‘going on beyond’] the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Heb 6:2  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
Heb 6:3  And this will we do, if God permit.

“The doctrine… of eternal judgment” is the doctrine of aionios judgment. It is the doctrine of universal salvation. It is last of the six “milk of the Word… principles of the doctrine of Christ” which we must get beyond and “leave” behind as no longer strong enough to nourish us into being “conformed to the image of His Son.”
Both you and your children will have to come to realize that all of those doctrines, true as they are, and as necessary as they are, are something we must go beyond if we ever hope to be more than mere “carnal… babes in Christ” 1 Cor. 3:1).
In conclusion, what coming out of Babylon means is to come out of the doctrines of Babylon which govern all of the kings of the earth, which ‘earth’ is defined as God’s apostate people, God’s apostate kingdom:

Jer 22:29  O earth, earth, earth [ Judah and Jerusalem – verses 1-2], hear the word of the LORD.

But since the parables of Christ are designed to hide “the mysteries of the kingdom of God” (Matt. 13:11), which kingdom Christ tells us “is within you” (Luk 17:21); and since many of the parables have to do with the apostasy of the kingdom of God which is within each of us, it is impossible for the natural man to see this truth. It is all foolishness to him.

1Co 2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

What I am saying is that coming out of Babylon is not simply a matter of leaving your local denominational church. There are millions of Americans and others all around the world who have done that and are just as ensconced in ‘Babylon’ as they have ever been. What we must come to see is that ‘Babylon’ is not an organization or a location any more than heaven is an organization or location. But heaven and Babylon are “within you.” And the doctrines of Babylon are the “kings of the earth” which can and will try and tend to creep into you and your children and dominate you every day of your life. The very purpose for all of the admonitions to be vigilant and diligent are for this very reason:

1Ti 3:2  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

1Pe 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pe 5:9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Mar 13:34  [ For the Son of man is] as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch [ same Greek word translated ‘vigilant’ else where].
Mar 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
Mar 13:36  Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
Mar 13:37  And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch

The easiest thing in this life is to fall back into the doctrines of Babylon. Being “swallowed up by the “earth” is Scriptural jargon for going back into Babylon, God’s apostate kingdom within us.

Num 16:32  And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them [ Korah and the 250 leaders of Israel] up, and their houses, and all the men that [ appertained] unto Korah, and all [ their] goods.
Num 16:33  They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.

This is the fate of all who turn their backs on the many miracles which God performs for us to bring us out of Egypt. And it is all because we tend to grow lax in our spiritual standards. Our children are no exception. Look at what happened to Christ’s children, his own apostles, who had been raised under Him:

Mar 14:37  And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? Mar 14:38  Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

The apostles here represent us and our children. This is not someone else. This is us. We all tend to go to sleep at the most crucial and most critical moment. The fact that we have not given our children the doctrines of Babylon, does nothing at all to insulate them from Babylon. It is giving our children God’s Truth which they will remember when they are forced to encounter the doctrines of Babylon. Our children must all make the same decisions which we have made. They too must “come out of her my people.” In spite of all we can do, the influence of Babylon is all pervasive. In truth Babylon is nothing less the the religious phase of the beast with “two horns like a lamb.” It is a religious beast with which we are all born as surely as we are all born a beast which “comes up out of the sea.” In Truth the great red Dragon is the model into which the beast which ‘comes up out of the sea’ is molded. Compare these two scriptures:

Rev 12:3  And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

Compare this description of the ‘great red dragon’ with this description of the “beast which comes up out of the sea.”

Rev 13:1  And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

But the crowns of rulership of the beast which comes up out of the sea is on its ten horns and not on its seven heads. Horns in scripture refer to strength; in this case, the strength of the flesh in us all. Our chances of keeping our children from becoming the Babylonian beast with “two horns like a lamb” are about as good as keeping our children from becoming a seven- headed beast with ten horns.” That beast is the first Adam, and he is in every man who has ever been born.

Psa 51:5  Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Which is just another way of saying that the earthen vessel we all are was “marred in the hand of the Potter:

Jer 18:4  And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

I’m sure you have probably read A fter The Counsel of His Own Will, but if not read that paper, and when you do, you will better understand that we truly do “live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Mat 4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

The depth of the Truth of that verse will take years to comprehend. When it finally sinks in, both you and your children will then be able to look behind you to see that the voice which speaks to you is the same voice which has uttered “every word which proceeds out of the mouth of God.” And “come out of her my people” are words which have come out of the mouth of God which will be very needed words for the benefit of even those who are purged of their Babylonian “wood, hay and stubble” in that greatest work of grace of all time, that purging instrument of God called a relatively small ‘lake of fire.’

Mat 24:35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

I hope this has helped you to see how even our children will eventually “come out of her my people.” Above all, I hope you can see that all the parables of Christ are designed to hide the meaning of the secrets of the kingdom of God which Christ tells us is “within you.” If God opens your eyes to see this truth, then you will “know all parables.”

Mar 4:9  And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Mar 4:10  And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
Mar 4:11  And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
Mar 4:12  That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
Mar 4:13  And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
