What Is The Spirit of Prophecy?

[Study by Dennis Crabtree presented during the December 2017 conference]

Rev 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy, which means that when you have the testimony of Jesus Christ, you are part of the “great voice of much people in heaven” of verse one;

Rev 19:1 And after these things I heard A GREAT VOICE OF MUCH PEOPLE in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

If we notice it, ‘A great voice’ is singular, and ‘of much people’ is plural. We are of one mind in His heaven. The scarlet-colored beast is all of mankind upon which the great whore sits, and she represents religion.

Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

The beast upon which the whore rides is all of mankind which lives upon the seven mountains, representing the seven continents upon which all of mankind lives, with the number seven meaning the completeness. All of mankind will go into the Lake of fire because flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God, and all of mankind worships their own beast by the religions of the whore.

Rev 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

The great multitude represents all those, no matter how small they may be, that run the word of God into the one lake that makes up the lake of fire. No matter how small that pure water may be which runs out of the smallest brook or stream from the mountain of God, it eventually ends up in a lake – the lake of fire. These waters are the same voice from verse one and are many waters that have the testimony of Jesus Christ, which is the spirit or waters of prophecy.

Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

When heaven is opened it reveals the mind of God to the “much people” of verse one, who are also the “great multitude”, “many waters”, and “mighty thunderings” of verse 6. This one voice that comes from the opened heaven of God is the mind of God being revealed to His people. This one voice makes up the body of Him Who rides upon the white horse. We know from scripture that the horse represents power, and white represents righteousness. Therefore we, who are the one voice which comes from the mind of God, are the body of Him Who sits upon this horse. It is God in us as ONE body, the Body of Christ, that shall make war with the rest of those who do not yet know their Creator.

The war is the lake of fire where the eyes of fire, and the fire that proceeds from His mouth (Rev 11:5) that comes from the body, shall see through all that is in the world. These eyes of fire will be in spirit and shall be able to walk through the closed doors of all mankinds’ heart as Jesus walked through the closed doors of the Apostles’ hearts when they sat at meat.

Joh 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

The Ark of the testimony represents the mind of Christ in the Old Testament. Whenever the Ark was with Israel, they conquered their enemies. Whenever they went out without the mind of Christ, they were defeated.

Num 14:40 And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.
Num 14:41 And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.
Num 14:42 Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.
Num 14:43 For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.
Num 14:44 But they presumed to go up unto the hill top: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.
Num 14:45 Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.

“Go not up, for the LORD is not among you”, “you shall fall by the sword”, “the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed not out of the camp” and “then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah.” Those who do not have the mind of Christ, which is the testimony of Jesus Christ, which is the spirit of prophecy, cannot stand against their enemies. But we are of one voice and one mind that make up the body of Christ.

Rom 15:6 That ye may with ONE MIND and ONE MOUTH glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Php 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in ONE SPIRIT, with ONE MIND striving together for the faith of the gospel;
Php 1:28 AND IN NOTHING TERRIFIED BY YOUR ADVERSARIES: WHICH IS TO THEM AN EVIDENT TOKEN OF PERDITION , BUT TO YOU OF SALVATION , AND THAT OF GOD.
Php 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

When Israel, who is a type and figure of the unconverted world in the old testament, entered the promise land, they were a type and figure of the beginning of the literal millennium. The people of the land represent all the false doctrines and giants that must be killed before they can overcome. We represent the Ark (singular), Christ. When the mind of Christ enters the world, typified by the Ark, the world is victorious over all that the Beast and Babylon have to offer. Like the literal life of Christ, another typification of the millennium, no one was converted during His literal earthly years, so it was with literal Israel. They continued to seek other gods of the land because they were never converted in their hearts. So too, it will be during His second coming to the world when we as the body, the Ark, the voice, the eyes of Him Who sits upon the power of the righteousness of God, represented by the white horse, rule this world with a rod of iron in the spiritual Body of Him Who sits upon the white horse, CHRIST, THE CHRIST.

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

When Israel lived for a thousand years in the promised land, they were overcome by the beast of the land, or by Babylon, who rides upon the beast. The Ark, which is the mind of God, was lost, and they are overcome by Babylon. This is brought out again in Revelation 11:7; 13:7 and 17:14. I used to think that when it says that the two witnesses were overcome and the beast was given power to war and overcome the saints, that this meant us literally. In one sense it does inwardly, but outwardly it represents all the world of yet unconverted saints. We must be defeated and killed inwardly by the beast before we can be resurrected inwardly and given life in the Body of Christ. This is why Israel the nation was overcome by Babylon and taken into captivity, as we were inwardly in our own lives.

The beast overcoming us IS THE WITNESSES BEING KILLED SO THAT WE CAN BE RESURRECTED! Without death there is no resurrection!! The two witnesses are one witness to what I am in the flesh – without strength, without knowledge, and without freewill. The second witness is what I am in Christ – a Son of God, part of the body of Christ and able to understand the mind of Christ. When Israel went into the promised land they witnessed to what the people of the land were without God, without knowledge, and slaves to their lusts. Then they witnessed to the fact they, the Israelites, were the children of God, were loved by God and knew the mind of God.

The people of the land, as the people of the land within us, HATE THESE TWO WITNESSES. “Who do you think you are by saying that you are The Son of God and that we are the children of the devil?”, they ask. These two witnesses are hated by ALL IN ME and ALL IN THE WORLD. This hatred is so strong that they crucified The Israel of God in the body of Jesus Christ. And when you claim these two witnesses, you WILL be hated by all in the world in you and all that is in the world. We are dead in the streets of all religion, Sodom and Egypt, which is represented by the streets of that great city where our LORD was crucified.

(Brother Mike witnessed to me the fact, that in the negative Israel represents the unconverted religious world. I have included his link to a study done eleven years ago on the same subject – http://www.iswasandwillbe.com/the-camp-court-tabernacle/)

Rev 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
Rev 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Rev 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

So Israel in the promised land represents the unconverted world who is blessed with semblances of God by outward prosperity. The elect, who are converted, represent the Ark of God who reveal the mind of God through Christ. The giants in the land represent all the false doctrines and gods we have worshipped in our earth. When Israel, which represents the unconverted world, is taken into captivity by Babylon, it is a revealing of what is still in their hearts. They must be killed by the truth of who they worship, Babylon, before they can be resurrected in the birth of Christ in the kingdom of God.
