The Teaching of Rain and Archers

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi W______,

That is a very revealing bit of information. ‘Rain’ is generally translated ‘teach.’

Hos 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain [3384-yarab yara] righteousness upon you.

I couldn’t help but notice that in some applications the ‘teaching’ – the ‘rain’ – affects the rejected anointed as a “wound”. The “archers” or “teachers” “wounded” king Saul. That is what the Truth does to those who reject it.

1Ch 10:3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers [ same word – teachers] hit him, and he was wounded of the archers [ teachers].

That is how the ‘two witnesses’ “torment them that dwell upon the earth [ God’s fallen people]”. The “fire that comes out of the mouth” of these witnesses is the Truth of the Word of God. That Truth either ‘teaches’ us or else it ‘wounds’ and ‘torments’ us.

Lord willing, you and I are teachable!

Thank you for sharing that with me. Every time you do, that is a real blessing for me.

Mike
