Deuteronomy - Deu 2:17-19 Thou Art To Pass Over Through Ar

Deu 2:17  That the LORD spake unto me, saying,
Deu 2:18  Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day:
Deu 2:19  And when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession.

In our past studies we learned that the passing over Ar was the passing over the places we inhabited while in rebellion toward God in self love. We then learned what the names of all these people were and how they represent the evil thoughts we have toward God. As we begin to take the land, we will now learn how taking the land is cleansing our heavens or taking possession of the promised land.

2Co 10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2Co 10:6  And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Heb 9:23  It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Although we are coming out of the wilderness, we must now cleanse our heavens from the giants and the people of the land.

Deu 2:24  Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.
Deu 2:25  This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee.

'Rising up' is being resurrected from the dead.

Psa 88:10  Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.

YES, He will and the dead shall be resurrected. We are rising everyday, because we die everyday.

Col 3:1  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Rom 6:4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

When we resurrect from the dead in our lives, we begin our journey to count it all joy - the meaning of the river Arnon;

Jas 1:2  My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

How can we count it all joy unless our heavens have been cleansed from the thoughts of our own strength? We all know we are weak and in need of God and that He alone creates these people/doctrines/nations we are to defeat. However, even our joy comes from God, Who is the Creator of all things, even Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon. What is so interesting is that God uses these nations against each other, IN US, to finally defeat themselves. In a sense they kill themselves by the direct commandment from God, as though they are acting in God's place, like NA, AA, psychology and all religious doctrines that espouse freewill, that focus on the flesh and not the spirit. God uses these false doctrines to empower the flesh, yes, to make it stronger so that when it is defeated there is no question about Who is King. This is the reason He created Pharaoh, to harden his heart that God's power may be declared in all OUR EARTH.  Though not the earth out there, because the earth as a whole is in blindness.

2Co 4:3  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Co 4:4  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2Co 4:5  For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
2Co 4:6  For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Rom 9:16  So then IT IS NOT OF HIM THAT WILLETH, NOR OF HIM THAT RUNNETH, but of God that sheweth mercy.
Rom 9:17  For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

It is NOT OF ME that I have the will to seek God, it is not OF ME to run after God, for the WILLING and the RUNNING are of God, not of man. If we will or we run, it is because God has been merciful to us and given us this will and run. If God is not merciful to us He hardens our heart by the false doctrines He sends to us through HIS unclean spirits in the hearts of His deceiving prophets.

1Ki 22:19  And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
1Ki 22:20  And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.
1Ki 22:21  And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.
1Ki 22:22  And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he (GOD) said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.

Job 12:16  With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.

So we have been resurrected from the dead of these lying doctrines that we loved so much, that we cherished because God had hardened our hearts from the truth. We did not will to love them nor did we run to them, but the opposite of God being merciful to us is God WAS NOT MERCIFUL to us and hardened our Pharaoh heart.  FOR THIS REASON WERE WE CREATED PHARAOH, THAT GOD'S POWER WOULD BE SEEN IN ALL OUR EARTH! In everything that I had ever done in my life or ever will do, was done, will be done it is because GOD WILLED IT TO BE SO. Wow! This is our gospel:

2Co 4:3  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

We are resurrected from these lies by the mercy of God, and now we cross the river Arnon, the waters of shouting for joy and gladness, because these truths deliver us from strength of sin, which is the law, the power of death.

1Co 15:54  So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1Co 15:56  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1Co 15:57  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Co 15:58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

So when God is merciful to us, He clothes us with His incorruption and His immortality in the knowledge of what Christ created, what Christ is creating and what He will create. This takes the sting of death from me, because my sin was created in me to bring me to this knowledge. The strength the law had in condemning me was used by God to kill me, then to see Christ as the Creator and sustainer of ALL THINGS. This knowledge takes what I saw as my responsibility and gives credit to its rightful owner - Jesus Christ, Who created all things for the purpose of bringing me over the waters of Arnon, that my joy might be fulfilled.

Joh 3:27  John answered and said (John represents the law), A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. (We can receive nothing, not even keeping the law, except it be given to us to keep the law. Which keeping the law means we agree that we are "lawless and disobedient, ungodly, sinners, unholy, profane, murderers, whoremongers, those who defile themselves with mankind (huddled together under the shadow of a false doctrine), menstealers, liars and perjured persons...")
Joh 3:28  Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ (the law was not sent for the righteous, but for the unrighteous. Christ was sent for the righteous (who saw themselves by the law as unrighteous), not the unrighteous (who saw themselves righteous by the law), this is why the law could not make us The Christ and why John went before Christ, as the law, to prepare the way for Christ), but that I am sent before him.
Joh 3:29  He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
Joh 3:30  He must increase, but I must decrease.
Joh 3:31  He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
Joh 3:32  And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
Joh 3:33  He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

Joh 16:33  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

We are both the bride and the friend because the best friend a man can have is his wife. None can be as close to him, nor him to her. They are one, they together create one being, one name under God - Christ. As He increases, we decrease and mesh into one person, the Body of our Head - Christ.

Son 5:16  His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

Arnon is the beginning of our joy, the reason we shout for joy. Joy comes when we realize that none can stand in our way this day, the Public Warrior (Sihon the Amorite), the king of "contriving" (king of Heshbon) will be defeated by God for us. We will begin to possess his land as ours, and we shall honour Christ as our Public Warrior Who contrives all the good in our life.

The root of the word for Heshbon (contriving) is reason, device, and account, and below is how they are used;

Ecc 7:25  I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reasonH2808 of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:

Ecc 7:27  Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the accountH2808:

Ecc 9:10  Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor deviceH2808, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

The king of Heshbon before our Day of The LORD is ourselves. We think we are king of reason, the king that takes account of my life, and the king of device in my life. We think, "All intelligence comes from my taking account, devising and reasoning of things. I am the king of my castle, and none can stay my hand."

Dan 4:35  And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

In my Publicity of who I am I boldly proclaim these things about myself, not God. I proclaim it so all can hear it from sea to sea, "I ACCEPTED CHRIST!" What arrogance, what pride, what shame we have to make such statements about the Creator of all things and by Whom all things are sustained. We make our own image of ourselves and dress it up in all the things we think are gold and silver to us. It is the image of man and his number is 666.

Dan 3:1  Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

We set ourselves up as king; we are the man of sin, the beast of our earth in our own eyes. The words "set it up" are H6966 and literally mean; (Chaldee); corresponding to H6965: - appoint, establish, make, raise up self, (a-) rise (up), (make to) stand, set (up).

This is not a one time act of "Okay, I got it, now God is King." No , this is an every day, every hour, every minute battle to defeat this first king who of Publicly announces himself as reasoning his own life, devising the plans of his own life , and taking accounting of his own life. God? This man is God in his own eyes, this man is the man of sin.

2Th 2:3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The defeat of this king is the defeat of Sihon, "the warrior", the Amorite who publicly wars against God as God and sets himself up as being God. The interesting thing is that God Himself created this public warrior to be EXACTLY who he is today, in the past and tomorrow. God gave him his strength to fight against God, is giving him his strength to fight against God and will give him his strength to fight against God. He is God's creation to be exactly who he is today. The reason God created him to be who he is, is for the revealing of WHO GOD IS, WAS AND WILL BE. We can only know how great the defeat of Pharaoh was after we know how great the hardening was. So this defeating of Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon WITHIN US, must be seen in the light of what his name and title says he is; a public warrior who believes he is the sole source of all reasoning, devising and accounting in his life.

This first battle is very important, because if Christ gives us the privilege to not only see this but to believe it, then the sound of it will reverberate through our whole lives, and we will begin to conquer our promised land. We will know peace in the MIDDLE OF THE WAR, and this truth will begin to put fear in the nations within us.

Psa 55:18  He ransoms my soul in peace from the attack against me, Though many have come to be against me." (CLV)

The battle does not stop, but we have peace in the middle of the battle. We are given a calm that only the truth of God can give. The truth is that the scripture from Daniel is speaking of God and not ourselves.

Dan 4:35  And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Again the scripture in John comes alive so that we can see what our LORD meant when He spoke these words;

Joh 16:33  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Joh 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Deu 2:25  This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee.

Psa 107:12  Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.
Psa 107:13  Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
Psa 107:14  He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. (keep in rememberance about Ammon's name meaning "huddled together under a shadow" and look at the darkness and shadow in the above scripture.)

This day is the day of our spiritual birth, of us being born again, the beginning process. Everything changes in our thoughts and in our hearts. We begin to question everything we have ever believed and all the things we have EVER LEARNED ABOUT ANYTHING OR ANYONE WAS A LIE. This IS "PUTTING THE DREAD OF CHRIST AND THE FEAR OF CHRIST UNDER ALL MY HEAVENS", because this truth takes everything from the nations (doctrines) in me and gives it to Christ Who predestined everything that I am, was and will be. I have no control over anything that has ever happened. All power has been given to Christ.

Mat 28:18  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  (We ascribe all power to Christ and not ourselves.)
Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations (nations within me), baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (Submersing all things in me in the word and thereby replentishing my heavens and earth with a new man that speaks a different language)
Mat 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

I used to think that giving Christ all power meant that He came to earth in a special body, conquered the devil's power, and when he died on the cross physically, he obtained the power over death. Now all who choose to believe in Christ by their own free will (which must have been exempted in all power being given to Christ) can be freed from thinking they are going to a place where they will literally burn for all eternity. I never took too much time to think about it back then, but I must never have minded my will being included in "all power given unto" Christ.

It never crosses our minds or our heavens because our heavens are in darkness until HE, CHRIST says, "Let there be light." If HE, Christ, does not say 'let there be light', then we will remain in darkness yet still under HIS power, for our darkness is included in "ALL POWER" given to Christ. Our darkness is light to Him.

Psa 139:11  If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
Psa 139:12  Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

We are sitting in darkness in our heavens, and that sybolizes the nations in us that we are getting ready to conquer. It symbolizes Sihon the Amorite (king of Heshbon), the Public Warrior (Sihon the Amorite), the king of "contriving" (king of Heshbon)". The root of the word for Heshbon (contriving) is reason, device and account.

The king of Heshbon before our Day of The LORD is ourselves. We think we are king of reason, the king who takes account of our life, and the king of device in our life. All intelligence comes from our taking account, devising and reasoning of things. "I am the king of my castle and none can stay my hand." In my Publicity of who I am, I boldly proclaim these things about myself, not God. I proclaim it so all can hear it from sea to sea "I ACCEPTED CHRIST!"

What arrogance, what pride, what shame we have to make such statements about the Creator of all things and by Whom all things are sustained. We make our own image of ourselves and dress it up in all the things we think are gold and silver to us. It is the image of mankind, and his number is 666. His day of creation (6), He creates the day of his worship (6), and he is the object of his worship (6).

Then we are led away in darkness to create the false doctrine of evangelizing the literal world by procaliming that "You, too, can ACCEPT Christ with your own freewill. LOOK AT ME! He saved me from alcohol ever since I CHOSE HIM as my LORD and Savior." We hold ourselves up as an example of the power of God over our sins, my sin that the Devil had created and I chose to follow.

These false doctrines and lies must be broken in us as the Israel of God. We cannot serve God and Baal/mammon at the same time. We cannot serve two masters. This is why it is so important to denounce any doctrine from our past as being "a little right". No, everything I ever knew was corrupt, the whole stay of bread (Isa 3:1), and so is Babylon 'out there' totally taken away in false doctrine, and there is not one part of its doctrine that is not tainted with heresies, NOT ONE PART ON WHICH WE CAN AGREE. All must be destroyed from the young doctrines of today to the old doctrines of Peter's and Paul's days.

Mat 6:19  Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
Mat 6:20  But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Mat 6:21  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Mat 6:22  The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Mat 6:23  But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Mat 6:24  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Where's earth? We are the earth. Where's heaven? Our hearts and minds are heaven. These false doctrines all have one familiar thing about them - the earth is the center of the teaching, "your testimony". We cannot expect to serve God when we have two eyes with one eye focusing on ourselves and one for God. We cannot serve both. We cannot serve God as Sovereign King of kings and LORD of lords when we believe we have a part in it of our own choosing. This is serving the gold and silver of our own good works without the burnt offering. This is offering a meal offering without a burnt offering. This is offering God your works without realizing it is Christ in you working these works.

Php 2:12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Php 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
