Deu 2:13-15 “Get You Over The Brook Zered”

Deu 2:13 Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered.
Deu 2:14 And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them.
Deu 2:15 For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.

The new Israelites were told to rise up. After the old man is dead the new man arises – Christ in us. They are figuratively resurrected and ready to put fear on the people of the promise land. But something we NEVER realize is that as the old man dies and a new man arises, so the very land that was once a scary place full of giants BECOMES the promised land. Our wilderness becomes an oasis.

Isa 35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. (Son 2:1)
Isa 35:2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.
Isa 43:18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
Isa 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isa 43:20 THE BEAST OF THE FIELD SHALL HONOUR ME, THE DRAGONS AND THE OWLS: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
Isa 43:21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

In the death of the old man is the death of how we looked upon the actions OF THE GIANTS. Rising up, crossing over the brook Zered, is resurrecting into a new life. I once saw my old man as responsible for his own creation, but now I see that all that was for the purpose of forming me into who I am now. The briars in my old land were meant to use as goads to prod me to where I am now. It is hard for you to kick against the pricks. It is hard to kick against something you did not create.

Act 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Ecc 12:11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

Crossing the brook Zebed is as its name represents, flourishing in a new place of thought, a place called the promise land, a place where the burden is light and the yoke is easy (Mat 11:30).

We have been taught from birth that all is ours in the sense that we create our own destiny. We are responsible for our own sin because we create our own sin, is what we are told. Being resurrected we learn that crossing the brook Zebed, we see that the shrubs have already lined the waters, and the growth is already there. What God has done is taken what we thought was ours and shown us that it WAS ALL HIS. We can break forth in singing and be glad for the pricks, goads and thorns because these things have been fruit hanging on my tree that has brought me life, and that tree is Christ. He was the seed of the tree of life which has shown me the meaning of what I thought was evil and now see that it was for the good.

Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Our acts in our land were indeed evil. But when our eyes are opened, we can see the good God had predestined, and that brings a flourishing of growth in my new land. The acts were intended to be used as billions of small particles of rock to grind me to powder so that the impurities of who I thought I am, who I thought I was, and who I thought I will be will be removed, and I can then begin to be remolded into a vessel of honour. Again, we must read these verses to see a brighter picture.

This is us, the beginning of what we are able to see about God’s plan for our lives. This is just the beginning of seeing all the sand around us, and what it took to make a single flower. That first flower is Christ, THE ROSE OF SHARON, THE LILY OF THE VALLEY. From Christ and all His sufferings that were also predestined for good, the elect come.

This is the picture of the plan of God for the lives of His first fruits, the Elect, and then all mankind will be brought to the knowledge of God through them. All of Adam will cross the brook Zebed and see the glory of God. All of mankind will see the purpose behind the wilderness journey of their suffering of this age, will glorify God for them, and then all of humanity will flower.

Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Rom 8:20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
Rom 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

How is the creature delivered from the bondage of corruption? By being set free from the bondage of the false doctrine that we are our own gods and the directors of our own lives. By seeing the sin of claiming our godhood and claiming our freewill are we put into bondage. Then God gives us a carnal law for the carnal mind and by it shows us we are not free moral agents but slaves of our Creator. First, we must see ourselves as slaves of our Creator before can see ourselves as Sons of our God. First, we must see ourselves as wolves before we can see ourselves as sheep. First, we must see ourselves as the Serpent before we can see ourselves as The Christ. It took 38 years to kill the old man and to see ourselves as the serpent;

Deu 2:14 And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them.

3 – for the process of judgment of the old man unto death before we could see the birth of the number 8 – the new man- 38
We cannot rise up, be resurrected, unless we are dead first.

In the verse of Isa 43:20 which we went over, it was pointed out that the beast and the dragon of my field shall honour God and that the unclean spirit of my heavens, the owl, shall honour God because God has caused waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert TO GIVE DRINK TO MY PEOPLE, MY CHOSEN. The beast represents my flesh. The dragons are our representations of our father, the Dragon, and owls represent the carnal mind of my old man. They are used by God, when our eyes are opened to see, to be water in the wilderness. Once our eyes are opened, we see that the beast, the dragon and the owl were a very essential part of our creation, and when we see that, our thirst is quenched (Joh 4:14).

Isa 43:20 THE BEAST OF THE FIELD SHALL HONOUR ME, THE DRAGONS AND THE OWLS: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

We know that the field is the world and the birds of the air represent the unclean spirit of the wicked one.

Mat 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; (the good seed is the new man, the tares are our old man).
Mat 13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
Mat 13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Mat 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

The wicked one is our old man, the beast, the son of the devil, the dragons, and his thoughts are unclean as the owl. The field is my personal world, my aionian journey. The Sower is Christ; the wheat that comes up is The Christ, the tares are what my old man plants in my aion which must be burned in the fire. All that he is, was and will be was created for the fire, as kindling to burn the dross out of me and creating a new man.

Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

We are created to be the dragons/devils we are and the messages (angels) our unclean owls carry. My thoughts of Who God is, was and will be is unclean in my old man. I cannot know Him in truth, for my life is a lie, and no liar shall inherit the knigdom of God.

Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

My new man is written in the Lamb’s book of life because the new man is the seed of The Sower and is the finished creation that was predestined to conformed to the image of his Creator.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Deu 2:15 For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.

The last verse of our set of verses today is speaking of the old man’s death in the lake of fire, represented by the wilderness. This death of the old man in the lake of fire is also progressive. As the new man’s life is progressive, so the old man’s death is progressive. The Spirit of the Word goes out and enters into good earth. Then that good earth, which has been tilled for the seed’s reception, receives the good seed into its ground where the seed begins to grow. The tilling is the trials of life that soften our ground to receive these truths, the tiller is The Devil, God’s hand (Job 1:11, Job 2:3), used to soften our ground, as God used him in the life of Job. For he comes only to steal, kill and destroy (Joh 10:10) what belongs to God.

By His constant wanting us to be as gods, does he steal from God, kill the thoughts that would glorify God, and destroy all that we should glorify God for. But it is by this progressive death that God CREATES life in the Elect. We cannot see Satan if we do not know what he looks like. He does not look like what our carnal mind thinks he looks like, with horns and a pitch fork. He is what we see in the mirror, before our eyes begin to open. What we see in the mirror is the reflection of our father, the devil. We are not “the Satan”, as we are not “Jesus Christ”, the head, but we are the image of Satan, the reflection in the mirror.

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

He is the father of the lie we are born with, “you shall be as gods”. This is why we can see him in the mirror, the reflection of this lie. It is a lie which God created Satan to tell, for it is through this lie God uses Satan to till our ground, make it soft for the planting of the seed. When life seems good, the ground is hard from LACK OF WATER-THE WORD, it is a wilderness full of only thorns and briars, which are our works. Thorns and briars have need of little water, for they survive in the harshest conditions. This is us before we are tilled by serious trials and by the flood of the water of God’s word that drowns out all that we thought was good;

Gen 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Gen 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
Gen 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Gen 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

This is what happens to the Israelites in the wilderness. These had the hand of The LORD against them, as we do in our appointed time. God will use His hand, Satan, to kill all that we are, and when The LORD has used Satan for this purpose and the last person is put to death, then Satan himself will be put to death. Then the last thing to be destroyed is death itself, when everything is redeemed to God then death is destroyed.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

After this we read;

1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1Co 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Israelites went into the lake of fire with the old thoughts, represented by the people who disobeyed God, which is our old man, and after 38 years, typifying the process of judgment of the old man until the new man is formed, they come out ready to enter the promised land after the final journey…crossing the Jordan, the actual death or last trump of God, where we shed the natural flesh and take on our new spiritual body.

1Co 15:37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
1Co 15:38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
1Co 15:39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
1Co 15:40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
1Co 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
1Co 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
1Co 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
1Co 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
1Co 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
1Co 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

The Israelites were ‘natural’ on this side the Jordan and became ‘spiritual’ on the other side of the Jordan. We have done the same, but only in a down payment form; we only have a semblance of the real. They went into the wilderness being told that they would come back out after the ones who disobeyed were dead. They came out after this was accomplished, as we do, but they still had to cross the Jordan, as we do. Once we have crossed the Jordan we begin to clean the promised land of the giants. This is inwardly first, and then it is outwardly in the world during the millenium. In both cases is the last verse completed;

Deu 2:15 For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.
