Deu 14:22-29 How to Use the Tithe

[Study Aired February 28, 2020]

Deu 14:22  Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
Deu 14:23  And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.
Deu 14:24  And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
Deu 14:25  Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
Deu 14:26  And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
Deu 14:27  And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
Deu 14:28  At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
Deu 14:29  And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.

These verses lay out the commandment on how to tithe all the increase before the Lord, in the place He has chosen they bring the tithe. And the commandment on how to sell the tithe if they are not able to carry all their tithe to place where the LORD has chosen because it is too far for them. Finally, using the tithe to provide for the Levite who has no land inheritance as the other tribes of Israel have and for the poor. Last week we covered  what tithing meant to us. We covered that the number ten means the completion of the flesh and the tenth, that what the tithe means is our life. The tithe is not a portion of our goods, but the complete life that is shown to be to created by our Creator. False doctrine teaches that it is a portion, because that portion represents what you can give God out of your own labors. It teaches that mankind has free will, and in having free will his labors are his, therefore he can give a portion of what his hands have made to the LORD. This portion is supposed to teach us to remember that the LORD gives the increase, and we are to worship Him accordingly, as our free will mind leads us according to the commandments laid out. The LORD hid the truth in such a way that to try and show someone without eyes to see is literally impossible and forbidden.

Mat 7:6  Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Deu 7:1  When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it [opened our eyes and ears to the truth], and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
Deu 7:2  And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee [in casting their doctrine out of our hearts and minds]; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
Deu 7:3  Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

Deu 7:4  For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
Deu 7:5  But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.
Deu 7:6  For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.

So, to give the tithe, our lives, to the LORD, we are told we are not to make a covenant with any false doctrine we find living within us, but we will expose it and kill it. We will bring the false doctrine, like a tithe offering, to the place where The LORD has chosen to place His name and sacrifice before the LORD. Our mind always goes to the good things, or at least what we would call good.

When we think of bringing a tithe without blemish to the LORD, we think religiously. Without knowing it, we are actually bringing a sacrifice of idols to the LORD when we think that way. Because we think according to our carnal mind that bringing something without blemish only means things we think are holy, we do not see that sacrificing our false doctrine, that was also given to us by God, is just as holy. Let me explain.

When the LORD first dragged me to the knowledge of the Truth that Christ created me exactly who I was, am and will be; that every detail of my life was perfectly created to bring Him glory, I was so freed from religion. The yoke of religion was removed, and  I did what many of us have done, I took it to the world. I told everyone I knew this new understanding, could not stop talking about it, to everyone with whom I came into contact. Many smiled and looked at me like I had lost my mind and others rejected it immediately. I did not see that to cast my pearls before swine was forbidden, AND THAT’S WHY WE DO IT. When God tells us not to do something, it is because He is telling us what we will do.

Gen 2:16  And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Gen 2:17  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Gen 3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

The world tells us we are to be ministers of the gospel in the sense we are to take the gospel TO THE WORLD. But that is spitting on what the Truth tells us. We are, in this eon, sent to the house of Israel, not to the spiritual Gentile, the swine.

Mat 10:5  These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
Mat 10:6  But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mat 10:7  And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mat 10:8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Mat 10:9  Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
Mat 10:10  Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
Mat 10:11  And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
Mat 10:12  And when ye come into an house, salute it.
Mat 10:13  And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.
Mat 10:14  And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Mat 10:15  Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

These verses are telling us that when one is brought into a situation by the LORD and given to speak the truth, if that person is receptive to that truth, then God has opened that door. If that person does not receive the truth, then let your peace, the truth, return to you. In other words, shut up! Don’t try to force your truth on them; they are not of the lost tribe of Israel. Throughout time God has hidden us in the world. We are as small as a mustard seed, dropped into the world, scattered throughout the world, waiting for the water from the clouds, of which clouds those who hold the truth represent.

Heb 12:1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Babylonian false doctrine is that everyone is given the opportunity to know the truth, and they either reject it or receive according to their own freewill. They taught us that we are to preach the word to the world, we are to scatter our seed everywhere all the time, without thought of soil or water. The thought of casting your seed everywhere is where the false doctrine of missionary work comes. Evangelizing the world “FOR JESUS” because He is sitting up there on a cloud pulling His hair out because no one is listening, and He is so weak and impotent He can’t win the souls for which He died, and the world is spinning out of control headed for a literal hell where 99.99% of the people for whom He died will be lost forever, without hope. The truth that we are not to mix with or make covenant with false doctrine tells us the exact opposite. We read that we are not to go to the Gentile. We are to go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Where are they lost? They are lost in the world. We are to be ready to give an answer, and we are to be ready to tell the truth, but as God prepares the ground through many trials and temptations.

1Pe 3:15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

The scriptures Babylon uses to back up their false doctrine to go out and force the Word on people who have not been prepared to receive the truth, of which truth they do not have, is:

Mat 28:18  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

These verses have been used and distorted to mean we are to go and evangelize the world. This is a lie. Babylon is supposed to go and evangelize the world, and they do – with Babylonian doctrine. However, Babylon represents the people of the land of Canaan that we are to conquer and remove from the holy land, of which land we are. We are to remove all Canaanite doctrine from our land, kill it, burn it, and not make covenant with it. The land is the Body of Christ as a whole, and each of us make a portion of that land, therefore whatever portion of the whole we are given – our bodies, our carnal minds – we are to conquer and remove all false doctrine from that land. We are to expose it, hunt it down and kill it, small and great alike. This is in like manner to our verses today an offering unto the LORD. Being shown false doctrine within ourselves, in our land, killing it, and putting it to death, is a sacrifice and a tithe to the LORD. When we are shown a false doctrine within ourselves, of which we all have many, and we kill it, by exposing it, it dies and the land brings forth fruit to God. With the death of one thing brings the life of something else.

Joh 12:24  Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

God uses Babylon to spread the word all over the world. He uses Babylon to set Israel up to be delivered from the world. He uses them to scatter the word everywhere in their attempts to save the world, and they do not know they are being used to save Israel, us, the Elect. They are the Levites who are given to serve the tabernacle but never handle the holy things.

Num 3:5  And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Num 3:6  Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
Num 3:7  And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.
Num 3:8  And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
Num 3:9  And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.
Num 3:10  And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

In offering our tithe unto the LORD, we realize that the tithe is our life. Whatever He has used to drag us to the knowledge of truth – all the sin, all the pain, all the false doctrine – was all from Him as our LORD and God. All the false doctrine, all the religious ceremonies, all the holy days, holidays and rituals were all given by Him to contrast between the truth and error. This is a tithe to Him, an offering saying this, too, was from our Creator.

Last week on a job I was doing, I was presented with two men. One, the owner of the building where I am working recently got what he called his pastoral license to be a marriage counselor, along with his wife, who also got her pastoral license. They are building a place where people can come and stay while they are being counseled. Then, I was presented the contractor of the job, who is a retired pastor of a church which he built. The owner told me that the contractor was stealing from him and had threatened him, and he was afraid of the contractor, the retired pastor.

While working there I wondered if the LORD would open the door for either of these men and if they were a lost sheep. I was given the opportunity to the owner, and he welcomed the word and with a smile received it but added, “You are a lot further along than I am.” Then I was presented an opportunity to drop a seed to the contractor, the retired pastor. He immediately rejected it, and I left it at that. The peace was received by one, and I ended up speaking to the owner on several other occasions, and he readily received some of it and said he would think on the other things. This reaction meant my peace stayed in his house, and time will tell if it bears fruit. The words that were given to him will be brought to his mind time after time in the future. However, when the other man rejected the word, my peace returned to me. This is tithing also because it is giving the increase of that word or the rejection of that word to God. It increased me in knowledge on how to administer the truth, and it taught me how to stop and take my peace back. Both were a tithe to God because He created both.

Deu 14:22  Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.

When this verse says to tithe “all the increase of thy Seed” it includes the example I gave above. When we die to old doctrine, we are increasing in Christ, the Seed. When old doctrines of Babylon fall, the Truth grows in its place. We are both the tares and the wheat. They are not two different seeds, but the same seed in different lights. The truth is a tare to Babylon, and the tare is a truth. It is the opposite of what we have been given. They are both in the elect, one has to die for the life of the other.

Mat 13:24  Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
Mat 13:25  But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Mat 13:26  But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Mat 13:27  So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
Mat 13:28  He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
>Mat 13:29  But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Mat 13:30  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Mat 13:36  Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
Mat 13:37  He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
Mat 13:38  The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
Mat 13:39  The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
Mat 13:40  As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
Mat 13:41  The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Mat 13:42  And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Mat 13:43  Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

This is seen inwardly. The world is in us, our lives. We have the seed planted in us from before the world began (Eph 1:4-6) and is why the enemy plants tares in us, because the Truth is in opposition to a lie. The end of the world is our day of the LORD. It is when we are given to see who we are in Christ and who we are in the flesh, the tare. Both grow together until we are dragged to the knowledge of the truth. We are conceived into the world, live our lives, not knowing who we are until the Day dawns and we are given to see Christ has been growing in us all along. We are Israel, we are the promised seed of Israel. We are the beloved of God in this eon. We are a member of the body of Christ and are growing up into that body as the LORD has predestined. The tares are important because the tare, although it looks like a wheat stalk, is in fact a weed. We need that contrast to compare the Truth against a lie. If we never see the truth, we think the lie is the truth. We think the tare is wheat. Although it is inward and must be seen inwardly first, it does have an outward ordinal meaning. This parable is comparing the people of God in Christ to the people of religion, of the great whore, Babylon. The tares in us are gathered as we are harvested, daily. We are burned in the oven of God’s word. It consumes all that the tares have displayed as wheat. Once the tare has died, it acts as a fertilizer to the wheat, and the wheat grows into more wheat. This is the tenth we give to God as a tithe. He created it, and He receives it in abundance; some hundredfold, some sixty and some thirty.

Mat 13:22  He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
Mat 13:23  But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

What if THE PLACE where we are to offer this tithe is too long for us or too far for us? The point is, it is too far for us. It is unattainable for us to carry all that we have done in our lives. This is why we are told:

Rev 3:18  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

We are to sell all that we think is ours and buy from our Lord.

Mat 13:45  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
Mat 13:46  Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

The provisions He has made for us in Christ were bought for a price, that we may have to offer Him and give to others. Buying from the LORD is receiving what He has provided, not what I have provided. The price is my life. It is my my tithe.

Mat 10:8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Luk 7:47  Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

The time of offering is at the end of the three years, which is the process of judgment we must go through to produce this harvest.

Deu 14:28  At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:

When we are changed by the process of judgement, we produce a tithe unto The LORD. A tenth, our life.
