Deu 12:19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.

[Study Aired November 1, 2019]

Levi is the tribe God had chosen from the twelve tribes to serve the tabernacle, and Aaron was from that tribe.

Exo 4:14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
Exo 4:15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.
Exo 4:16 And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

The Levite's portion was God and not land.

Deu 18:1 The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.
Deu 18:2 Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.

The Levite ate from the things the children of Israel brought to God for a sacrifice.

Deu 18:3 And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep; and they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.
Deu 18:4 The firstfruit also of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.
Deu 18:5 For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of the LORD, him and his sons for ever.

They lived in the cities which were given them from the land conquered by the children of Israel.

Num 35:2 Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.
Num 35:3 And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.
Num 35:4 And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.
Num 35:5 And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

So, from the whole tribe of Israel the Levites were taken and dedicated only to the service of LORD. Their job was to handle the things of God, putting up the tabernacle, taking down the tabernacle and handling all the things that pertained to the tabernacle (except the holy things, only Aaron and his sons were allowed to handle those things). Also, only Aaron could enter the holy of holies. There is a hierarchy per say in the way God deals with us. Christ represents Aaron, who went into the literal holy of holies within the tabernacle.

Exo 28:1 And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.
Exo 28:2 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.

Heb 9:6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
Heb 9:7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:

Then there's Aaron's sons, Christ's sons (us), who handle the holy things and go into the holy place.

Num 4:15 And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.

Then there's the Levites, who handle the things of the tabernacle but never touch the holy things.

Num 4:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
Num 4:2 Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers,
Num 4:3 From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.
Num 4:4 This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation, about the most holy things:
Num 4:5 And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:

Num 4:16 And to the office of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest pertaineth the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the daily meat offering, and the anointing oil, and the oversight of all the tabernacle, and of all that therein is, in the sanctuary, and in the vessels thereof.

Num 4:24 This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, to serve, and for burdens:
Num 4:25 And they shall bear the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tabernacle of the congregation, his covering, and the covering of the badgers' skins that is above upon it, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,
Num 4:26 And the hangings of the court, and the hanging for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and all that is made for them: so shall they serve.
Num 4:27 At the appointment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burdens, and in all their service: and ye shall appoint unto them in charge all their burdens.

Num 4:29 As for the sons of Merari, thou shalt number them after their families, by the house of their fathers;
Num 4:30 From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shalt thou number them, every one that entereth into the service, to do the work of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Num 4:31 And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tabernacle of the congregation; the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and sockets thereof,
Num 4:32 And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their service: and by name ye shall reckon the instruments of the charge of their burden.

Each family had its duty to do, to minister to the LORD. Aaron represents Christ, we represent Aaron's sons, the Levites represent Christianity that handles the things of the tabernacle but cannot handle the holy things we do, and Israel as a nation represents the world as a whole. It becomes almost second nature for me to disregard the Levites, Christianity. I have talked bad about them not understanding I was them and came out from them. The beast in me has seven completed heads that easily turns into another head when it believes it has risen above the other heads.

Dan 7:20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

Dan 8:3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

Although we are given to handle the truths that enter the holy of holies and the Levites are not, we must remember we came out from them. This is the outward application to our verse today. The inward meaning is that we must understand we are chosen by God, and that not of ourselves, to be the priests of God. We are blessed above all others in this life, because we are chosen out from the whole nation to serve Him. Inwardly that Priest is inside me, entering the holy of holies of my heart, sacrificing for what the whole of my nation has done, is doing and will do. He is keeping my mind focused on the truth of Who He is and who my flesh is. The holy of holies is my heart. It is in my heart that must be cleansed. My new man is the eighth and is of the seven;

Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

When the priest went into the holy of holies, he was being judged. He represented Christ offering Himself for the sins of the whole nation. We are in Christ, therefore when we enter the holy of holies, we are going into perdition, going into judgment. Going into perdition is going into ruin, completely being emptied by God of all that we think we are. Our verse today highlighted three thoughts for me when I read it;

Deu 12:19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.

Inwardly, how would we forsake the Levite inside ourselves while we are living upon the earth? The name "Levi" from which "Levite" comes is defined as:

We are "joined to" Christ, the High Priest, Who has entered the holy of holies of our heart. We must not see ourselves as ever detached from Christ. We are so united to Him that we are called His wife; the two shall be one.

Eph 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

This is how we are to see our verse inwardly. We are the land that is being conquered. The giants are in us, in our land. He has chosen this land in which to set up His tabernacle. It is in this place we are to worship God. Christ is our high priest Who has entered us, Who sits on the throne of our hearts. Wherever we go, whatever we do, He is there guiding us through it all for the purpose of showing Himself to us. In showing Himself to us, He is showing us The Father. We are never to forsake Him and think we have conquered this land without Him, for He is in us. He has shown us who we were before He revealed Himself to us, the man of sin, the son of perdition. All of scripture from Genesis to Revelation is about two men, the old man and the new man, the son of perdition and the Son of God, the son of the first Adam and the son of the second Adam, Esau and Jacob as a type. He has chosen to make His tabernacle us. We are the tabernacle He inhabits. All of Israel must come to the tabernacle to worship God. We are where He has chosen for the tabernacle to be, and all Israel comes to the tabernacle and the place He has chosen for the tabernacle to rest.

Deu 12:18 But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.

In that place where He has chosen (Eph 1:4), the Levites are to be given to God as His servants to the priests. The Levites are to be given as servants to the tabernacle. Thay are given TO AARON AND HIS SONS from among the world/Israel to do the service of the tabernacle.

Num 8:13 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.
Num 8:14 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.
Num 8:15 And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.
Num 8:16 For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
Num 8:17 For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
Num 8:18 And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.
Num 8:19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.

All of the translations, all the dictionaries, all the books are written by the Levites for Christ and His sons. They have been sacrificed from the world for us. All their studying, all their writings, are for us. God has chosen us out of the world and then out of Israel to be priests, because we come from the loins of Christ Himself, the High Priest.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Even though we have been chosen out of the world, then out of Israel, we should never forget where we have come from. We were them, we came from them. We came not of our own accord or our own will, but because we were chosen in Christ by God the Father before the world began. We ARE CHOSEN FROM AMONG THEM, and they are not given to handle the holy things. When we try to force what we know on those outside the priesthood, we are committing sin. We are throwing the holy things to dogs and pigs.

Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

God has chosen His priesthood. God knows who are priests. We need not stand on the corner of streets with signs. He will bring His elected priests to Himself just like He has done with us. We should guard the holy things we have been given and give not a chance for Israel to touch them. I knew from the minute God dragged me to the truth I had the truth. I knew it from the moment I touched the holy things that I had touched the holy things. I didn't need to confirm it with any Levite preacher or so-called scholar. I knew what I had seen was truth, and I know it today. Let's not forget the Levite and how God has sacrificed them for us, but let's never make the mistake of thinking that they are all Priests. We should be careful not to throw our title to just anyone for the sake of numbers or membership. He will bring the rest of Aaron's sons as He has decided they are needed. It is easy to get caught up in so-called evangelism and to throw our jewels before swine.

We are to be ready at all times to give an account, but be careful not to cast our seed under every green tree. No one from the body pursued me, God dragged me to the body by having me search the word "sovereignty" in Google. I am not saying we should not be ready to give an account, but I am saying we have a calling that has been specifically given to us as the elect, the sons of Christ/Aaron. We should do all we can to protect that calling and guard the holy things from the world. I speak to people about truth probably throughout every day of my life in some form or other, but I drop a seed. If they eat it up, I drop another. I test the ground to see if they are the elect. If they joyfully receive it, I give more. If they deny it, I stop giving. After two or three admonitions I move on. I do not waste the Sacrifice on those who are not hungry to eat at the tabernacle where God has chosen we eat. Let's not forget the Levite as long as we live in this earthly body because has sacrificed them for the tabernacle. They are God's servants, sacrificed for us, the priests who eat where the Levites are not allowed to eat.

Heb 13:10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

This is why earlier we are told not to sacrifice under every green tree, upon any hill or mountain because the Lord has chosen a place where we are to sacrifice, Jesus Christ. Remember the Levites were not allowed to touch the holy things, and they did exactly that. They sacrificed under every green tree and not in the place where God had chosen. This is what has happened with mainline Christianity. They are attempting to handle the things only we, the priests, are chosen to handle, which will be our subject for next week, LORD willing.
