Deu 11:1-12 The Land we are Conquering is our Personal Idols

[Study aired August 9, 2019]

Deu 11:1  Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
Deu 11:2  And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
Deu 11:3  And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
Deu 11:4  And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
Deu 11:5  And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place;
Deu 11:6  And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel:
Deu 11:7  But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.
Deu 11:8  Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it;
Deu 11:9  And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
Deu 11:10  For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
Deu 11:11  But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven:

Deu 11:12  A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

I have often told you how I grew up idolizing western movie actorsand how I molded myself into being like them in the way they talk, the way they walked, and the way they handled other people.  These people I was forming myself into, by the hand of God to bring me to destruction, were my gods of the land in which I walked. We have discussed at great lengths that our flesh is our land;

Jer 22:29  O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.

So we should be able to see that the land we are conquering is the land that has already been built by the people of the land, the idols we have formed in our land. We, as fleshly, carnal beings are schizophrenic. We are made up of different people whom we model before other people, who model who they are before us. No one knows who they are, because they are one person to one person, another person to someone else, and so on and so on. I was one person to my parents, another to my friends, and another to those I just met. You see the point. We can say that we were not that way, but in reality we portray to others what we want them to see about us, who we want them to see. And as all lands, some have more people than others have. This is what our scriptures today are about and why Christ is telling us as His church to love Him and Him only, and He will allow us to stay in this land.  Christ used all the people of the land to build it up, to nourish it, but now Christ has given that land to us to conquer it and possess it. The land belongs to Christ, Who has been giving it rain in due season without its request, yet now is going to give that land to Himself, you and me who make up the body of Christ. As the land had many people in it, the seven nations stronger and mightier than us, now it will have only one nation, Israel, with Christ as its leader. Whereas we had many kings, now there is only One King and One God.

1Co 8:4  As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
1Co 8:5  For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
1Co 8:6  But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
1Co 8:7  Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

God used all these nations in us to form what we were, to learn what we know as natural humans, and we worshiped many gods. I had a god from which I learned; one was made up of characters in movies, a god I learned from others in my life, a god I made up on my own, (not on my own per say, because all things are from God and for God ), and all the other gods that surrounded me in this land had a influence on me in my life. God used these nations in me to form what I was for the purpose of teaching me Truth. I cannot know good without evil, I cannot know truth without error. Error is a very essential part of knowing truth. How can I know truth unless I have something to compare it to? So, too, with all these gods that were created by the wicked imaginations of my heart, it was all necessary to learning to love God with all my heart and soul. I cannot love Him if I still believe I am a free-will being able to make mundane choices separate from Him. If I believe there is one single molecule in me that is separate from God, then in that place I am not loving God with ALL MY HEART, and that molecule must be killed and run out of my land. This journey starts with the death of Pharaoh and his army in the baptism of the Red sea. It is here that the man of sin is exposed and then destroyed. He is drowned in the water of the word.

2Th 2:7  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2Th 2:8  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th 2:9  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

From here we start our wilderness journey to get to the land of promise. All the way there we are fighting to go back to Pharaoh, complaining we had it better under His rule.

Exo 16:2  And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
Exo 16:3  And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

However, the choice is not ours. It was not our choice to leave, and it is not our choice to return. We are on a path that has been laid before the world began, a path that has every single, minutest detail already laid out, and we will walk in that path.

Eph 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Eph 2:10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

He destroys Pharaoh, Pharaoh’s army, then He begins reshaping us in the wilderness, until we are formed into the new man, Christ, by which He crosses the Jordan and begins to destroy the inhabitants of the promised land. This destruction is done by the indwelling of the Spirit of God, whereby we are given truth about Who God is. Once we are given this knowledge, we begin to destroy the doctrines and languages of the people of the land.

Psa 114:1  When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

Dan 3:29  Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.

We all speak the same language, and yet we each have our own language. In the United States we speak mainly english. It is the predominant language of this country. Yet within this one language are many accents that make this one language into many languages. People from the west coast speak one way in English, people in the north speak one way in English, people in the east speak one way in English, and people in the south have their own English way of speaking. So, too, it is in the spiritual world. We all, in the flesh, speak one universal language or doctrine, yet we all have our own spin or accent on that language, and it goes something like this:

“You are your own person, you are the master of your own destiny. You have the power to make yourself whatever you want; all you have to do is work hard. You can worship God in any way you want, and no one has the right to question your way of worship. We are all born free and we all have free will to make choices that are not influenced by anyone or any thing.”

Once we are given the victory over the people of the land, the land becomes one language, one doctrine. There are no more nations with different languages but one nation with one language; the nation of Israel. This is brought out in the book of Acts.

Act 2:1  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
Act 2:2  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
Act 2:3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
Act 2:4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Act 2:5  And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
Act 2:6  Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
Act 2:7  And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
Act 2:8  And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
Act 2:9  Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
Act 2:10  Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
Act 2:11  Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Act 2:12  And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
Act 2:13  Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Out of all the languages came one language that all understood, the language of the Spirit of God. Not everyone can learn this language; only those born from above.

Joh 8:43  Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

Joh 10:27  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:4  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
Joh 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Joh 3:7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Joh 3:8  The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

And…

Isa 50:4  The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
Isa 50:5  The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

Rev 2:7  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Rev 2:17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

He inclines my ear to hear. He opens my ear to understand, and He allows me to know His language. He allows me to know the voice of my Shepherd. We know the Babylonian language, and we recognize it when we hear it, but we do not go to that language any more because it is a “foul language” to the people of God. This language becomes a foul, cursing language to us. As soon as we hear it, we know it is not the language of our God, or of His people. In this promised land we go by one language, one distinct dialect and it is a language none but the Israel of God can understand. It is by this “WORD” we conquer the people. It is not by sword or spear, but by The WORD of the language of God.

Zec 4:6  Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Heb 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

God’s WORD is Jesus Christ, and we live by every WORD that proceeds out the mouth of God. We know the WORD of God that He is powerful and He is sharper than any twoedged sword. Jesus Christ is the Creator of all things, and by Him all things consist.

Col 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

His power is in His WORD, His language is simple for us to understand, because it is the language that scares all the people of the land into hiding.

Rev 6:16  And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
Rev 6:17  For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

We do not have to worry about the language of the people of the land because these people and their language are destroyed by the WORD of God. It is this WORD of God which forms the very land we inhabit.

Gen 1:1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Gen 1:6  And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

Gen 1:9  And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

Gen 1:11  And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

Gen 1:14  And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Gen 1:20  And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

Gen 1:24  And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

Gen 1:26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 1:29  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

“And God said” the people of the land will be meat for you.

Mat 24:28  For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together (We are the eagles – Isa 40:31).

Jer 7:33  And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.

Psa 74:14  Thou brakest the heads (the seven heads of the beast that make up mankind-Rev 13:1) of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

He has created the very people we are going to destroy by the WORD of God which proceeds from our mouth. That WORD is powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. It cuts asunder the fleshly soul from the spirit and brings life from ‘eating’ these people. The more we eat of them, the stronger we get. He has destroyed Pharaoh, the man of sin, and his army. He has given the land into our hand to destroy, and He alone is King of the kings of my land and LORD of lords of my land. He created them to feed, and they are nourishment to our new man. So, we are no longer ‘vegetarians’ but eating the ‘meat of His word.

Gen 2:16  And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

We are given meat to grow by. So, we should kill and eat all the people of the land which we are conquering. They are the beast of our field/our world, and we are given the commandment to kill and eat.

Gen 9:2  And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.
Gen 9:3  Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
